We really enjoyed going up and watching the sunset. Definitely keep an eye on the bar times so you have time for a drink and an epic view before you go up even further. A perfect way to start our trip through New Zealand.

So much fun. Buy your tickets in advance and skip the line. The views are amazing. We went at night, which is beautiful, but very hard to get pictures because of the glare. I would try the day time if I went again. It would also be fun to go when there are people doing the skywalk.... not sure I have the courage to do it.... but it would be fun to watch those that do.

Visited in May 2023 Auckland Sky tower is located in the SkyCity complex with its entrance underground. Several entry packages are available depending on what's open at the top. Once ticket is purchased, the staff will guided us into the glass-bottomed elevator to the top where tickets allow access to two levels of the tower. The bottom level provides 360-round views of Auckland. The viewing windows do seem a tad tinted in my opinion. Another elevator is required to access the SkyDeck, next level up which is a smaller viewing platform which also has some artworks. Several things to do up the top includes VR ride, SkyWalk, SkyJump which tickets for those are below where the initial entrance tickets are. The gift shop is back on ground floor on the way out with a small cafe.

A great way to view the city in one go. The trip up in a glass floored elevator was fun and the two observation levels offered a unique view of the city. A definite must for all visitors to the city!

Great 360 degree view of Auckland. Slight panic when standing on the glass panels in the floor. Worth the trip.

We booked for one day, but due to jet lag and other activities, we went in to see if we could change the date, which they were happy to arrange. We went up the tower at around 5:30pm when it was still light and stayed as it got dark, so we were able to see the amazing views and the lights at night. We were lucky that it was clear by this time as it had been foggy earlier in the day and visibility was very poor. We paid for the Sky Slide, which was safe and fun. Unfortunately the Sky Bar was not open on Mondays. We didn’t do the jump, although it looked awesome, as there was no space - so if this is your thing, make sure you book a time slot. We could have dine the walk as there was some availability, but elected not to as we are doing extreme stuff in Queenstown.

Good experience when visiting Auckland for the first time. Only had time to visit at night though I wouldn’t recommend as you can’t see much

Absolutely breathtaking views of Auckland. A must for first time visitors and short stays. Great cafe, bar if not dining in the tower.
