Very enjoyable day out. Picked up on time and driver ensured we were booked through right onto the ferry. We were met in Uruguay by the very personable and informative Ruth, who walked us though the new town but also the very picturesque old part of Colonia. Had a great lunch at the Charco bistro before meeting up with Ruth again later. Back in BA our driver was waiting and took us back to our doorstep. Sure you can do it cheaper on your own but I preferred the no hassle and information given option. As with other reviews, don't linger on the boat coming back into BA as the queues for immigration were quite long so get off quick!

You can take the ferry on a same day RT for USD32. Turn left from the terminal and off you go. Easy.

This was a good tour. The trip was well organized and comfortable, the guide was very good and knowledgeable and interesting. I was a bit worried, after the disastrous Tigre delta tour, organized by the same company, but this, Colonia tour really was what they said it would be. Highly recommended! It was a lovely day in a very lovely place.

The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Trip is well organized. When return, plan for a longer time to pass immigration and custom.

Great tour from start to finish! Hotel pick up was easy to find, took us to the ferry and showed us how to board. Uruguayan guide was waiting for us when we got to Colonia and the tour began immediately. Definitely recommend.

I took this wonderful small group tour (3 of us only) to and of the charming and historical city of Colonia from Buenos Aires on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, and absolutely LOVED IT. Pick up at my centrally located hotel in Buenos Aires was prompt and the ferry / boat trip across the Rio de la Plate to Colonia was smooth and very comfortable. Once we arrived in Colonia, we were met by our very friendly and professional tour guide (ALEJANDRA) who then proceeded to give us an extremely interesting and enjoyable two hour walking tour of this gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage City. I LIKED the fact that Signature Tours provided us with approximately 3 hours of free time after the walking tour to explore the shops and restaurants on our own, which we certainly took full advantage of. The restaurants and gift shops in Colonia are plentiful, so the options are very good. Our lunch was amazing and we had the opportunity to try Uruguay's famous Tannat wine (spelling?), which was flavorful and delicious. Alejandra met us, once again, after our 3 hours of free time was over with and walked us back to the ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The ferry ride back to Buenos Aires was sooo comfortable that I fell asleep for most of the hour long cruise back to the city. IN CONCLUSION, I would like to say that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this outstanding tour to Colonia from Buenos Aires for anyone wanting to add another country to their personal list of travels (Uruguay was country #45 for me) and for history lovers like myself and to do so with SIGNATURE TOURS, which is a very professional tour company.

Such a great day traveling to Colonia! The historic town was beautiful! We walked around with our very informative guide that allowed plenty of time for pictures and exploring. We had a great lunch at CHARCO, one of the hotels in the area and then caught the ferry back to Bueno Aires. This trip is worth it! Spend your day in another country!!

The amount of knowledge that our guide has is incredible. Not only she explained the history of Colonial but also had deep knowledge of other countries. Very impressed!

I would recommend this to anyone. Alejandra is and excellent guide and a good representative of Uruguay. The resturants are very good and the local wine is excellent. The wine is a must try. Try the local sandwich (I forget the name).
