Fabulous trip with our guide Mathew. Even with all the castles closed we got to see different parts of Romania and learn its history A small group is great as you do not have to wait around to go to your next destination

Boogie our driver and guide certainly had the gift of talking. He included us in all the jokes and stories. At the end we were all singing to his favourite tunes. Time was tight at both castles (less than advertised) but time at Braşov was longer for time to get a meal and a stroll around this lovely town. A very pleasant and memorable day trip. Would recommend TravelMakers team.

The castles were neat and very pretty, but the thing that made the trip amazing was the tour guide, Boogie. He was very nice, generous, and overall helpful. Was never without a smile or joke, and made sure that we all had a good time and were well informed of everything that we were doing. I would recommend him to anyone that is interested in taking this trip.

  • 28-Oct-2019

The trip was pleasant. The guide was very professional and verbal. The timing was exact and the places we visited were good. It was a pity that because it was Monday the Peles castle was close. Otherwise it was perfect. The name of the guide was Serban Riga

The tour guide was really great! The drive can be a bit long, but he does a great job of using some of that time to talk about the history of the locations before we get to them. I definitely recommend this tour to others!

The two castles we visited (Peles and Bran) were both in spectacular settings and extremely interesting. Boogie was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed Bran better, although this goes against the general opinion in reviews. The town of Brasov is delightfully positioned too and most attractive. The only problem was the traffic, which then limited the amount of time spent in Brasov, although the amazing driver managed to by-pass the traffic jams by taking minor roads.

I was a little worried that we wouldn’t have enough time at each stop, but it turned out to be well-paced, and we had plenty of time at each for touring and photos. We arrived at Peles first, and since it wasn’t yet open, there was plenty of time for takIn his photos, using the restroom, and buying photo passes if we wanted them. Admission to the castle was included in the tour price, but they charge an additional fee if you want to take photos of video inside. It’s quite spectacular, and I did buy the video pass, since I make videos for YouTube.pm,which was about $15 US. Though Bran is probably the reason most book this tour, Peles is the real showpiece.

Next we stopped in Braşov where we had time for lunch and some exploring. Finally, Bran Castle. Be prepared for a VERY steep climb up the hill and lots of steps inside. Our guide got us into the castle and then left us to explore at our own pace. I had plenty of time to explore, buy there is a lot of information to read inside, and if you try to read it all, you might not have enough time. I suggest doing a little reading before you go.

Overall, the tour gets an A from me, with knowledgeable guides, well planned Itinerary, and comfortable transportation.
