You will pass by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a 2-acre national memorial which pays tribute to the members of the U.S Armed Forces who fought in the Vietnam War and were killed or missing in action. The memorial is made up of three separate parts: the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial War, considered the most popular feature.

You will also see the National World War II Memorial, a memorial of national significance which commemorates the Americans who served in the U.S armed forces during WW2 and all who supported the war effort from home, The Second World War is the only 20th Century event commemorated on the National Mall’s central axis.

Bess showed us around the monuments and walked a great pace, not too fast or too slow. We were able to ask and tell information and great bits of history since Bess has lived there for over 15 years. It was fun to hear about the changes and additions in monuments over the years. It was helpful that our group was 5 people. Get your walking shoes on and make a reservation with Bess.
