Know More about this tour

This is a typical itinerary for Golden Circle Tour And Secret Lagoon Visit From Reykjavik

Stop At: Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir, South Region

Take a walk through Thingvellir, a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, located directly between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The history here is also fascinating; Thingvellir was the original site of what is now the longest-running parliament in the world, formed in 930 AD.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Gullfoss, Blaskogabyggd, South Region

Admire the majestic waterfall Gullfoss. The sheer power of the falls is mesmerizing, and its history is inspiring.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Strokkur, Geysir, South Region

Another stop will be in the geothermal area near Haukadalur valley. This hilly area has a lot of hot springs, but what it is most renowned for is its geysers.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin, Fludir, South Region

On this tour, you will also get the time to slow down and relax like a local. Secret Lagoon is Iceland's oldest swimming pool, filled with water trickling in from an adjacent geothermal area, which, as an added bonus, has another little geyser. Its location could not be more serene, and you will no doubt ease away any tension built up over your holiday in its healing waters.

Amazing tour from start to finish. 100% recommended. Nice clean, well presented tour bus with a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide (Ian).

  • 11-Mar-2020

A fabulous day from start to end only made even better by the friendly guide who had incredible knowledge of the history geography language and environmental issues of Iceland would have no problem recommending

Gummi was our tour guide and a lovely knowledgeable man. We learnt a lot from him about our route and enjoyed the places we visited. A long, but enjoyable day

  • 02-Mar-2020

Our guide was amazing, very knowledgeable, humorous and entertaining- he really made the trip for us. The sites were amazing, in particular the Lagoon and the Waterfall. Would thoroughly recommend.

  • 25-Feb-2020

Excellent tour with a great guide went like clockwork yet didn’t seem rushed. Would definitely recommend a small mini bus tour.

  • 24-Feb-2020

A lovely day. Easy pickup, slightly cramped bus but comfortable nonetheless. A very knowledgeable and pleasant guide. The day ran smoothly and we enjoyed seeing some of Iceland’s sights.

  • 24-Feb-2020

Tour was run very well! Gorgeous scenery and very informative tour guide. Plenty of time at each stop (since the weather was so freezing, wouldn't be able to handle any more time outside before jumping back into the warm bus). Highly recommend!

Despite the Secret Lagoon being down for maintenance, this was a superb tour. Our guide was professional and so very knowledgeable. The weather was cold and windy, but totally expected. The weather did not diminish the enjoyment of the tour. I heartily recommend this tour to all visitors to Iceland. An exceptional tour and worth every penny...or kronos!

Our tour guide was great-very knowledgeable and had great stories along with his singing and he is a wonderful photographer. The tour sites were fantastic. The Gullfoss waterfall was amazing and a must see. If you decide to go to the top do it first otherwise you won't have the time. You have to climb stairs and then walk over which eats up time so you will probably get back to the bus late. Here are the downsides of the tour. You get limited time at each spot so I felt rushed to get photos, bathroom break etc at each location. At the park I would have liked more time to walk around and see the park instead of just walking quickly thru the path. At the geysers we had an hour to eat lunch, see the geysers, use rest room and do a little shopping-it was very rushed to get it all in. The Secret Lagoon-not so secret. Again rushed we had an hour but you have to shower before you get in and after you get out. By the time you shower, get a drink and leave time to shower and get dressed you get about 30 min in the hot spring. I do recommend this hot spring over the Blue Lagoon if you want a real deal experience. This spring will bubble up in spots and the water in those spots gets really warm plus you are actually walking on lava rock. There are other springs on site that you can not get in because they are way to hot but it adds to the experience of being in a natural setting. I liked the small group which was great but you still had a bunch of other tour groups at each location so you had lines to wait in that ate up time.

Our tour with Trond was so lovely. He’s such a funny, knowledgeable and warm person and his complimentary coffee and hot chocolate was the highlight of the trip. Unfortunately high winds meant we couldn’t visit the waterfall but he went out of his way to make up for this by taking us to Iceland’s black beach which was incredible. We also weren’t particularly interested in the secret not-so-secret lagoon (the wind and cold was way too unappealing for me to get changed into swim gear) but Trond gave us his amazing photo collection of Iceland to look through instead. This tour is very weather depending so bear that in mind when you book but also note that Trond will make it a worthwhile experience for you anyway! You are in capable hands and I couldn’t ask for a better tour guide. Thank you Trond and Gateway to Iceland!
