Overview

Escape from the city of Xian and connect with Mother Nature on this full-day, small-group hiking tour of Hua Shan. Enjoy magnificent aerial and mountain views at Hua Shans North Peak and challenge yourself to a trek up Green Dragon Ridge to take in more breathtaking views from the East Peak, South Peak and/or West Peak. This unforgettable adventure includes a pre-packed Chinese lunch, hotel pickup and the flexibility to hike the trails that interest you.

Know More about this tour

After pickup from your Xian hotel by air-conditioned vehicle, your driver will take you to the foot of Hua Shan, one of Chinas Five Sacred Taoist Mountains with a long history of religious significance. Take a shuttle bus to Huangpu Gorge, where youll board a cable car that will take you on a scenic 10-mintue ride up the mountain.

Upon arrival at the North Peak, you will be afforded beautiful mountain and valley views. Spend time walking around and taking photos of the surrounding sceneries. Ask your guide about the mountains Taoist background and its importance to immortality seekers looking for herbal Chinese medicines.

Begin your hike up the Green Dragon Ridge to make your way to any of the other three peaks: the East Peak, South Peak, West Peak and back down to the North Peak. You can go in either direction and can choose to return to the North Peak at any time. Those who are up for the challenge of the fairly strenuous 4-hour (approx.) hike around to the South Peak and back will be rewarded with unbeatable views of the scenic landscapes below. (Please note that if group separates to hike to different peaks, the tour guide will accompany the larger hiking party and will reconvene with the whole group back at the North Peak at a later time). Wherever you decide to go, you will enjoy magnificent views of the mountain range and the sprinkling of Taoist temples throughout the mountain.

Your pre-packed lunch is for you to enjoy whenever you wish. Sit back and take in the amazing Hua Shan views at any one of the peaks of your choice. Using the map provided, make sure to be back at the North Peak at 3pm to meet with your guide. At the end of the day, board the cable car, shuttle back down to the foot of the mountain, and enjoy a relaxing drive back to your Xian hotel.

This trip was excellent! What a beautiful place! Truly breathtaking. This place is right out of the movie Avatar. Our guide was very kind, spoke excellent English, and was up for the adventure with us. This truly is a once in a lifetime experience. The only recommendation that I would have, is ask your guide to take you to a different restaurant than the fast food ones in the visitor center. Highly recommend this trip!
