On this small-group walking tour of Bostons North End district, listen as your expert historian guide gives you an interesting historical account of the crucial role this area of Boston played in American history. Begin your tour near Blackstone Block, a small network of alleyways and structures in a neighborhood that John Hancock once called home. Marvel at several of the 18th-century buildings still standing relatively unaltered.
Work your way through a maze of winding colonial-era streets and learn about some of the most significant moments in American history, such as the American Revolution and the Boston Tea Party. You'll also walk through Haymarket, one of the longest standing outdoor markets where many in the North End can still buy their groceries.
Discover how longshoremen (dock workers) came to call the North End home as the citys shipping industry developed over time. Once home to African slaves, the area soon filled with Portuguese, Jewish, Irish and Italian immigrants. Learn how the areas diverse ethnic and racial influences have evolved since the countrys inception more than 200 years ago.
After your walking tour, grab a bite to eat at one of the many delicious Italian restaurants -- the North End is known for exquisite Italian cuisine!

Absolutely great tour of some of Boston's great history. Walking along some of the Freedom Trail and learning of the cities amazing history with a small group of about 10 was fantastic. Great little visit to a chocolate factory was unexpected surprise. You must try the cannoli at Mike's Bakery. Great tour!

We had an excellent day with our guide, Michelle Moon. She was very knowledgeable and made the day fun. We saw everything from the Big Farmers Market to the Old North Church. Would advice this walk to anyone interested in the history of Boston.

Our tour guide was timely and waiting for us when we arrived. However, he did not seem to be prepared and did not impart very much historic information on the subject. His mannerisms were annoying and it could have been because he did not know his material so took a long time in his thought process. Pretty boring for a three hour tour. We cut it short.

Jessica was amazing as she shared all her historical knowledge of Boston. We ended up spending 4 hours on our tour !

This was a very informative tour, Thomas was well versed and knowledgeable. Enjoyed it immensely!

It was just two of us and we have very private tour. A lot of walking, but it worth it!
-
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. A worthwhile tour as we would not have appreciated many of the places we saw or noticed them on our own. Perhaps a little too much time was spent looking at diagrams and maps. We would have liked to cover more ground. Nonetheless a job well done.

Our guide was fantastic! We were the only two on the tour and she structured the tour just for us! We got to see lots of areas of Boston and not just the tourist sites!
