Know More about this tour

Be picked up from your accommodations in late afternoon and be taken to savor various street items and traditional dishes from carefully selected eateries. As you drop in to the oldest and best food joints in the city, youll stop over to admire local sights as you walk and rickshaw around the city.

Walk through beautiful narrow lanes to visit the famous vendors of Rajasthan specialties, where locals wait in long queues for their numbers to be called. The pure Indian meal journey lets you treat your palate to different types of rabri, multigrain breads, authentic sweets, snacks such as kachoris, and special tea made on charcoal fire (all veg food).

As you walk through the lanes of the city, relish the contrasting flavors of famous sweets and savories of the cuisine at time-tested eateries. It is very unique from other food tours in which the tourists are made to walk at a stretch and are taken only to those food places which lie in nearby proximity. Catch glimpses of daily life while riding the rickshaw.

With a satisfied tummy, you will be returned to your hotel with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

It starts with a cup of tea, as most things of importance and substance in India do. But this isnt your run of the mill tea poured from the baskets of enterprising chai-wallas, this tea has been perfected over the 8 generations that the Sahu family has been running this shop, and its exquisite taste is hard to over-state. In many ways this first cup of tea is representative of the tour as a whole. This is a Jaipur 5 senses tour saturated with local delicacies in equal proportion to delightful historical details that bring even more life to the ancient planned Pink City.

Walking with Anirudh founder of the wonderful tour company Vedic Walks through the Old City is an eye opening experience that I would recommend to any traveler looking to dive deeper into local culture beyond the onload-offload tour bus. He maneuvers you through back-alleys with ease, escorting you to multi-generational shops that offer you such delicacies as saffron ice cream, sweet lassi served in terra-cotta cups, hand-crafted spicy lentil fried dough balls and many more, whilst simultaneously enriching your mind by linking the very alleys you walk within to the citys people, its history as well as its future.

Weve been on many tours in many countries, tasted numerous local dishes from innumerable local shops, but this tour with Anirudh and Vedic Walks ranks at the top of our food and culture tour lists.
