Know More about this tour

If you've already seen Mauis beaches and are looking for a different adventure, take a day trip to discover some of the islands more off-the-beaten-path gems. Awaken your senses on this 9-hour, small-group trip to Haleakala National Park, as well as a lavender farm and a winery. Travel aboard a luxurious and comfortable limo-van with a maximum of eight passengers.

After pickup from your hotel in the morning, drive to Pa'ia for a light morning snack. Then, enjoy a leisurely drive to Haleakala National Park, home to The House of the Sun -- a dormant volcano and the tallest peak on Maui. Arrive at the visitors center at the 10,023-foot (3,055-m) summit and take in breathtaking panoramic views of the crater. From Puu Ula Ula (Red Hill), admire 360-degree views of the Big Island, West Maui, Lanai and Molokai.

Next, descend into the serene gardens of the Maui Lavender farm. Explore the fields of lavender that grow year-round and let the fresh, invigorating fragrance fill your senses and lift your spirit. After touring the farm, feel free to visit the gift shop that sells more than 75 lavender products made directly from the gardens.

At the farm, enjoy a delectable Pacific Rim lunch as you hear about the mystical side of lavender. Served on linen table cloths, lunch includes hibachi-grilled chicken, fresh mahimahi, fruits and more. A sample menu can be found in the Itinerary section.

Continue past rolling green pastures, serene mountain vistas and beautiful seascapes to Ulupalakua Ranch, where Tedeschi Vineyards is located. This historic ranch was visited by King Kalakaua and Queen Kapiolani in 1874 and was famed for its hospitality and agricultural prowess. Enjoy the panoramic vistas over Mauis southern coast from this historic vineyard. Visit the Kings restored cottage, used as a mountain retreat by the last reigning Hawaiian King and Queen, now used to display the many wine offerings.

Lastly, visit the Hawaiian paniolo (cowboy) town of Makawao. Enjoy ample time to take a stroll and explore this historic place at your leisure. Visit Viewpoints Gallery, operated exclusively by Maui artists; Hot Island Glass, the only glass-blowing studio on Maui; or any of the various locally owned shops.

Afterward, youll be taken back to your hotel at approximately 5pm.

    Awesome trip!

Our guide, Michael, was excellent. Very informative on all aspects of trip. Was a pleasure to travel with him.

Haleakala was worth seeing. Lavender farm was a disappointment. Very small shop with very limited items.

Although I have been to Maui several times, this tour showed me places that I had never even known about. Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable about the island's history, and shared many local insights. The van was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this particular tour to anyone who wants a bigger picture of Maui than just the golf courses and beaches, and doesn't want to deal with 25-50 people in a group. The van only accommodates 6 passengers, so there is a lot of personal attention for each one. For me, it was a day well-spent. I would agree with some of the other reviewers about the confusing description of the food served. We stopped along side the road at a nice view point for coffee cake and juice on the way up to Haleakala in the morning. At the lavender farm we were served a lovely picnic lunch of cold wraps choice of chicken or fish, pasta salad, and cookies. All were very tasty and freshly made. Don't expect a hot, sit-down meal. In my opinion, it was the perfect compliment to the setting and the type of tour. All the stops, including Maui Winery, had some sort of interesting history. Since the weather was nearly perfect the day of our tour, we had wonderful views of the island throughout the entire drive. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Such a waste of time and money! It saddens me to think the 3 of us paid 720 for this tour and wasted 9 hours of our vacation. Breakfast was a piece of pound cake on the side of the road and the extravagant sounding lunch that was promised was nothing more than cold wraps, pasta salad and a brownie on a picnic table with a white tablecloth. Not impressed with any aspect of this tour! Long and boring trip! The lavender farm was nothing more than a few plants scattered here and there and the gift shop well the gift shop had only a few lavender items. My daughter and I walked in and right away looked at each other and said, this is it?. If I had to choose a best part of the tour, I guess it would be the wine tasting and then we only got to taste 3 wines! Bottom line, I had rather pay 720 not to take this tour again and have my time spent at a beautiful beach!

The Haleakala National Park was great, what a view. It would have been nice if the Lavender Farm was in bloom, but it was still beautiful. The wine tasting was great, we went away with a bottle of pineapple wine. Our guide was fun and it was a great day.

The small group tour to Haleakala with a lavender farm visit and wine tasting was a great way to spend a day on Maui. We started with a stop to have some coffee and breakfast while looking for whales along the coast, and then continued on the long and winding (take dramamine if you get car sick!) ride up to the volcano. After a few minutes to check out the views, we headed back down to stop at a lavender farm for lunch before heading to our final stop, a winery that makes several kinds of wine, including a very unique - and very sweet - pineapple wine. Our guide was great; he was informative and funny and shared a lot of information about life on Maui. The tour was a long one, but we loved the chance to see so many diverse areas of Maui in one day.

Although we had an interesting tour and a good day, we were disappointed in some aspects of our luxury tour. For one thing, on reading the itinerary for the day we were promised a BBQ lunch with some menu choices; however we got a cold picnic lunch which consisted of a wrap, cold salad, a brownie and a bottle of water,.This was the same lunch that we received on the Hana Tour the week before. Also the continental breakfast was disappointing--although the pound cake was fine, the coffee was a bag in a styro foam cup with luke warm water from a thermos. We were expecting a nice hot cup of good Hawaiian coffee. Tour of the Haleakala national Park was good, and our driver was a good guide, but what the luxury tour offered over a regular tour was not worth all the extra money. The tour was almost $500.00 per couple. We were not impressed with the lavender farm at this time of year-nothing very significant, and the same with the wine tasting. I have been to several wine tours, and this did not measure up ,for the amount of money invested. This was our second luxury tour, and after being disappointed with some aspects of both, decided to cancel the third tour. You would be better off taking a regular tour and spending your money on other activities.
