Know More about this tour

This SOMA beer crawl is the perfect way for a craft beer lover to spend an afternoon in San francisco. Half tour, half celebration, there is a focus on craft beer education and bringing SOMA to life as you enjoy many generous samples (included in tour price) of unique locally made beer and become fast friends with the others on tour.

Visit 3 San francisco microbreweries and/or craft beer bars and use our industry connections to bring each stop to life in a way you could not achieve on your own. Learn the unique role each of our destinations plays in the craft beer scene, discover the backstory of each beer you consume, and improve your knowledge of the brewing process with a mini brewery tour. Whenever possible, you will go behind the scenes and talk with knowledgeable brewery employees who can bring additional insight.

While you walk from one brewery to the next, your guide will briefly, but vividly, describe SOMA's checkered past and brewing history, using your surroundings as reference points.

As time passes and beer flows, friendships are made and informative sessions transition into a more festive atmosphere, but your guide will never stop educating those who want to hear more. The tour will have a clear official conclusion after about 3.5 hours. By this point you should be full of smiles and new knowledge, as well as enough beer that you can't drive home, but you could still walk home.

In San francisco there is always another great bar nearby and each tour ends with the opportunity to join your fellow beer lovers for another pint, a bite to eat, and more good times. Whether or not you're able to stick around for that, your guide will be happy to help you find a way home, or recommend other excellent activities in the area.

This was great fun and our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and so nice. We loved the walk around the district and saw parts of the city we really enjoyed. The breweries were fantastic with great beer!

I booked this trip for my significant other and myself. We were not disappointed. The tour was exceptional from start to finish. Mike and Dylan were our guides. They were funny, knowledgeable, accommodating and professional. We had a group of 11 with very diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. We had some from Holland, Canada, the States, and Scotland. Everyone had a great time. After the tour, we all decided to go out for a night of Karaoke! I wished that Mike and Dylan could have joined us. They were both truely awesome guides!!!! Book this tour!!

Come for the beer, stay for the history lesson--super fun foodie experience! Henrique was our guide, and he is so friendly and knowledgeable. When you're not a local, finding those special places for your particular tastes can be challenging, even with the internet, but SF on Tap Tours has true local experiences, local lore, and (most importantly) local beer. The beer selection is great, and the venues are just as varied. You go to very different venues, from a shiny new brewpub in Ghiradelli Square, to an absolutely unique Indian-Irish pub by the cable cars, to a psychedelic, tiny bar in North Beach. A highlight for me: you get to see a REAL Banksy work in the wild. My mind was blown!! Great tour and keep it up.

I wish I could give it 6 stars! This brewery tour was perfect for my sisters bachelorette weekend. Mike, our tour guide, was so informative and fun. We tried so many different types of beers and Mike walked us through each one. The downstairs tour of the Thirsty Bear was really interesting and I feel like an expert now with the brewery process. We got to know the two other groups in our tour and overall had a fantastic time!!
