Know More about this tour

Youll be picked up from central Munich in the morning for your day trip to two gems of the Bavarian Alps: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Palace. On your scenic 1.5-hour drive, your expert guide provides commentary about the history and significance of the Bavaria region and its attractions. Your luxury coach offers comfortable seats, panoramic windows, Wi-Fi and a restroom, ensuring optimal comfort throughout your journey. Enjoy a complimentary snack box on board, with additional snacks and drinks available for purchase.

Your first stop is Linderhof Palace, a small palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Though inspired by Frances Versailles Palace, Linderhofs interior is actually rather private and humble, as youll see on your 1-hour guided tour, but head to the surrounding gardens and youll discover why theyre considered among the most beautiful in the world, combining elements of Baroque, Italian Renaissance and English styles.
Leaving Linderhof behind, head next to Oberammergau, where youll have about 30 minutes of free time to walk around. Wander the lanes of this quaint village and see beautiful examples of the traditional art of woodcarving.

Continue driving along famous Romantic Road to the foot of majestic Neuschwanstein Castle. Before hiking up the hill for your guided tour of the castle, you can either have lunch (own expense) or set out for Mary's Bridge (Marienbrcke), the best spot for postcard views of the castle.
The most famous of three royal palaces built for King Louis II of Bavaria, Neuschwanstein sits on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau. Take a guided tour of the 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace to learn about its peculiar past: it was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive, crazed king, but it was opened to the public after his death in 1886.
Today Neuschwanstein is an architectural icon; in fact, it inspired Disneys Sleeping Beauty and closely resembles Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland!

After your tour of the castle, relax on the drive back to Munich.

Absolutely great trip; it was worth paying the extra to have the castle tours included as well as a very comfortable bus. Our tour guide was great and provided a lot of detail on the life of Ludwig II.

Great idea, poor execution. Facilities and coach were very good, the driver excellent, the tour guide could certainly have been better. While she tried to provide detail and color to the drive down it was repetitive and awkward. The tour line tries to push their agenda and affiliated tour stops hard despite them being of suspect quality. There are better options. The guide repetitively attempted to communicate the schedule however her recommendations are ere far from accurate and led to us missing opportunities to see all that was available. While not the tour companies nor guides fault, when entering Neuschwanstein’s main entrance the guard manhandled our 7 year daughter in a highly inappropriate way. Despite or objection and consternation the hairs laughed at our concern until we asked to speak with the main security supervisor. Throughout the entirety of the episode the guide stood by and watched, failing to intervene, assist in translation or attempt conciliation. Overall, while perhaps others may have enjoyed their tour we cannot say we did and would be hesitant to recommend. Certainly do not spend the extra money on the premium tour as others have suggested - I cannot see what your extra expenditure reaps you.

This was such a great find, of course everyone travels to see these castles when you go to Bavaria. using this service was so nice cause we did not have to worry about anything transport was comfortable and had tons of snacks. We had a lovely female tour guide who taught us so much history and showed us so much we would have overlooked. Some tour guides can be really dry and seem to drag on but she was older and it was obvious she enjoyed speaking with people and showing them German history. We would defiantly say if you are staying in Munich and want to see the castles in a carefree way do this tour :)

This was my first ever group tour experience and my first time in Munich. If you are wanting to see the castles this is the best way to do it. Sit back, relax on the bus and enjoy the countryside. My guide Caroline was amazing and gave us a thorough history lesson during the whole journey. Be prepared to walk a lot up to the castle, inside the castle, and back down to the meeting spot after the castle. Here’s some tips to help make your trip easier 1. Bring 3 euro for the bus that brings you up the hill 2. The bridge is a little rickety but this is where you will get the iconic castle picture and the best view 3. Wear good walking shoes! 4. Skip the restaurant in the hotel the guide recommends it’s not very good and walk down the street there’s other options 5. The meeting spot is easy to reach by S-Bahn just take the Karlsplatz exit and follow google maps from there it’s like a 2 min walk from the station (I used google maps) and you will see the buses with signage stating what tour they’re going to 6. There’s no photos allowed inside either castle which sucks just fyi 7. Bring a covid mask, as of Nov 2022 we had to wear them while inside the castles 8. Don’t be afraid to do this tour solo. I got to meet some amazing people on my tour!

Great trip. knowledgeable, friendly tour guide with lots of stories about what we were seeing. Great driver as well. They made everything extremely easy.

Ursula was fantastic! We learnt so much from her. She is great at telling stories! The castles and the little village are a must see.

This was my second time visiting Neuschwanstein and Linderhof castle's. Last time was in 2007. What I really love about the Neuschwanstein Castle is the views of the surrounding area. Absolutely fabulous! If you get the chance to go, you should make this one of your places to visit. Also, our guide was amazing. We only had about 20 people on our tour. Definitely the way to go if you want to hear the history of where you are. Ursula was amazing!

Very informative trip. The tour guide was an expert on the history of our stops. Her great knowledge and stories helped pass the time away while in route.

First - you get the opportunity to experience how people drive in Germany! The scenery is phenomenal! You will get a vast amount of history about medieval Germany and experience the magnificence of Neuschwanstein Castle! Do be aware there is a lot of walking. I highly recommend this tour!

This is a great tour to do three iconic German sites. They get you there efficiently and we had ample time at each stop. Beware though, there is a lot of up and downhill walking and a lot of stairs!
