Know More about this tour

Discover an area of New York City most tourists don't know about, let alone visit.

Begin the tour in front of the world-famous Chelsea Market (also known as the former Nabisco Factory). After learning about the history of the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, enjoy some free time inside the market to sample baked goods, snacks, and even do a little shopping.

After heading out of the Market, learn about the infamous 'Death Avenue' before heading up to the High Line, a 1.45-mile-long linear park built on an elevated section of a disused New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line. Hear about the controversy and impact the construction of the park had on local residents. While on the High Line, enjoy a fantastic view of Chelsea Piers and see where the ill-fated Titanic was meant to dock in 1912. Also, see the Standard Hotel, an 18-story luxury boutique hotel, plus other local architecture.

After leaving the High Line, head into the heart of the Meatpacking District. Visit the Gansevoort Hotel before walking past several high-fashion flagship stores and some trendy bars where the tour concludes.

  • Enjoyed learning about this part of the city that we had never visited before, but would have liked to see more of the highline. Great tour guide, Jordan, who was very interactive and informative.

  • Really enjoyable, as a visitor the tour provides you with the opportunity to learn about the area and history that you just wouldn't get by simply visiting the area. Really provided intwresting insight into an important area of NYC.

  • My cousin and I recently took the small group walking tour of the Highline area. We were the only two on Jordan's tour that day and essentially ended up with a private tour. Jordan is a wonderful tour guide and most definitely made the tour what it was. While not a native born New Yorker, he has certainly done his research and was able to give us not only the historical facts about this area, but interesting tidbits as well. We would highly recommend this tour as a great way to spend a few hours in NYC, and if you are lucky enough to have Jordan as your guide, you definitely won't be disappointed!

  • Booked this tour and day of tour was rainy. Attempted to push it back a day and was told by the vendor that a 20.00 per person charge would apply. Hotel supplied us with umbrellas and we were on our way. As it turned out rain was not an issue and our tour guide Liz who was very good took us on a two hour jaunt of this very interesting district. Would recommend this tour.

  • Don't miss this! We went on a beautiful Saturday morning and it could not have been more perfect. Our guide, Sean, was friendly and knowledgeable. The High Line is a lovely marvel and the Meatpacking District is more interesting than it sounds :

  • Patrick was an excellent guide, friendly and lively, telling stories and sharing lots of information about Chelsea Market, the neighborhood and of course, the Highline. We were very happy to get off the beaten path and visit a not-that-well-known part of NYC -- highly recommend everyone else to do so!

  • We had a real small group experience, as there were only the 2 of us...
Patrick our guide was a great companion, sharing notes and stories about the neighbourhood...but quite honnestly, I was abit disappointed on the overall content of the tour not on our guide though I mean spending time seeing/going through the Chelsea Market food stalls really does not bring much added value. We also got to have a very high level view of the High Line, but I am sure there are much more things to see and do in the district
Overall it was just at level interesting, and I am not sure I would recommend it to others

  • Helpful guide, kudos to the company who operate those tours even with one person! Not like one can be in NYC every day. Great guide, a cool neighbor hood

  • Our tour guide Liz was excellent! She was full of interesting facts, had a thorough understanding of the history of the area and knew the locations like the back of her hand. It was the perfect tour for a family of 5 who had never visited this area of New York before. Without a helpful guide like Liz I feel that we would have wandered aimlessly, missing key parts of the wonderful locations. Only criticism is that we wish it lasted longer. Grabbing breakfast on the go in Chelsea Market and lunch in Gansevoort market was a bonus! Would highly recommend, especially to those who have never visited this part of New York before.

  • Interesting tour! We loved the unique beauty of the High Line. Neat area of the city that we would know nothing about had we not booked this tour. Liz was our very sweet and enthusiastic tour guide.
