  • Great tour.

  • Pleased to say on our second night we got the see a glimmer of the lights. The vehicle is very comfortable and not overcrowded. The company honoured their promise of if you don't see the lights you get to try again at no charge.

  • -I may have miss some small print, but the 'Super Jeep' was a 16 seat mini bus with big wheels.
-I never got answers to the emails I sent regarding the pick-up points, but they were helpful once I called to have an answer.
-Our first tour was cancelled due to rain and could only be rescheduled 2 days later, which was fine. However, when our tour actually took place, we did not understand why our guides were driving us to cloudy areas we followed our tracks on google map and matched it with the live cloud map of the Icelandic Meteorological Office. When we asked why we were stopping in a cloudy patch, showing the live cloud map, the guide answer was 'that's not were we are'. We then showed our location on google map and our guide recognised she was wrong, but we still stayed there. Lastly, we really wonder why the tour took place as the forecast of auroral activity was zero on a scale of 0 to 9 that night according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office. Of course, we had the opportunity to re-schedule but it was too late for us as our trip was ending.
-We are totally aware there is no guarantee whatsoever to see the Northern lights, but we left Iceland with the feeling the place is an overpriced tourist trap and we have travelled the world extensively
-We usually keep quite when not happy, but if they don't know how people feel, they won't be able to adjust their tourist policies / practices. And that would be a shame as the natural wonders of Iceland are really worth seeing. Once back home, we spoke to friends, and many had similar experiences in Iceland and felt like us.
-In the case of this particular tour, when the conditions are unfavourable like they were on the night we went out, it would have been nice if we were told about the situation and were given a choice to go or not and be reimbursed if we had decided not to go.

  • We had a great guide, Gisly, who made the trip very interesting and fun. Did not see the lights that night, but went the next night at no charge and saw them. Guide on night 2 was Clemmie, also very nice and knowledgeable. Arctic Adventures was the local company in Iceland and we would highly recommend them!

  • We did get to see the lights put on an amazing show and our guides were super nice people. However this was definitely not a small-group tour unless you count three groups of 20 people all together as small. Also - just to translate: Super Jeep Mercedes Sprinter with big tires. Still I guess it was better than being on a bus?

  • We didjoin this Small-group Northern Lights Tour from Reykjavik in supposedly Super Jeep and paid 189.50 per person. However, we were kinda disappointed, since it was a minivan and there were 12 of us and did not see Northern lights on Nov. 16,2017. On our second try on Nov. 16, again we were picked up from Hilton Nordica Hotel with Minivan andnot super Jeep and there were 16 of us. We saw the Northern light or Aurora Borealis but best seen with high tech camera, unfortunately we did not have. The tour guide, took our picture individually and told us that it will be posted in their website Article Adventure, but did post only some and ours were not. The experience the same with just joining the Northern lights Grayline tour for 69.90.

  • I chose this Small-Group Northern Lights Tour due to the small group and what I was hoping would be a better experience than the big bus tours. The guide/driver, Simon, was good. Gave us an overview of the vehicle and what we were doing. I was under the impression that we were going to chase the Northern Lights. What transpired was we were driven to a designated location and waited for the night. While I understood that it's a natural event and can't be summoned at will, a bit more try especially as this vehicle was well equipped to find the lights would have been a better experience.

  • This is really a ten star tour. Picked up promptly and really easy. The giant jeeps were awesome with about 15 people tops on it we did a caravan of three jeeps. We were incredibly fortunate as the northern lights forecast was updated at 9 pm and we were expecting a 7 out of 8 on the scale. We went off road into a field and it was mesmerizing! The guides were awesome. Obvious that they love what they do. Took its of pictures of us all as the camera sees them much better than the human eye. Stars everywhere. They had snacks of hot chocolate, cookies, and an Icelandic alcohol. Wonderful. We stayed several hours. We were so glad we went our first night as,we met several people that went the next night and saw nothing. Very. Very cold and windy when we were there so dress on lots of layers. I wore full ski gear including ski pants. This made it quite comfortable

  • This tour is much more expensive than the other Northern lights tours offered. The reason we chose this tour was to be in a super jeep a custom-built SUV complete with monster tires that measure upward of 38 inches and be able to access places other vehicles could not go. Imagine our surprise when we were picked up by a mini bus! I even asked the driver if we were on the wrong vehicle and he said no this was much better than a super jeep. We traveled around the area, made three stops and at each of the stops, there were full sized buses too. Clearly we could have gone to the same locals, spent considerably less money and seen the same things! Very disappointed with the bait and switch

  • WOW! This tour company is amazing. They are professionals at constellation readings, weather reports, and fun. We had a wonderful experience and we were taken right to where the northern lights could be seen. Additionally it was as great surprise to be serviced hot chocolate and shots of vodka. :-
