  • Amazing Experience

  • The super jeep tour is the way to go. It's a smaller group of people and they are able to take you off-roading so you get the best view. the night I went, the level of light was on lower end of the scale, but we were still able to see it. The one guide took photos of us in front of the lights and taught us how to set our cameras so we could take our own pictures. It was such a cool experience.

  • We were initially a little disappointed to end up as part of a larger group than we expected because the tours had been delayed by weather the previous nights, but it worked out very well and we were pleased that others who didn't see lights on their first chance were able to do so this time. The information is very clear that this may happen and we knew what the weather had been like, so we weren't too surprised by the larger but very manageable group size.
We ended up in the mountains with a very nice display of northern lights and fairly clear skies. The next day we talked to some other people and learned that they had taken a large motor coach for a northern lights tour and been unable to find clear skies, let alone seeing any displays of aurora. Those buses couldn't get into the areas where our tour went. Overall, we were very pleased and the guides did a great job.

  • It was a cloudy 2 chance night. We accepted that but the driver did not use the microphone system to educate or entertain. 8:30 to 12:20 was a long time that could have been filled learning more about Iceland.

  • Superb! The best way to see the northern lights!!!

  • I would not suggest this tour to others... it was poorly run, Yes it is true that we did not see or experience the northern lights,,the fact we did not see any northern lights was a little disappointing and the operators knew this would be the case, however did little to try and make the night a little bit more exciting, rather, stop at 2 spots for 40 mins and just either stand outside in the cold or get back in the jeep and wait...when we got into the pick up jeep at the start..we were told nothing what were the expectations that night, we had to actually ask what could be expected and the reply was lazy and a poor one... The cost, the tour and the actual overall experience was a poor one in my opinion..NOT WORTH the money...Would not book this trip again

  • Great night out! We saw the light very quickly within 30 mins or so from departure. They also took photos for us on their camera which is a big bonus. Definitely go for a super jeep tour as they can get you to more secluded places that normal vehicle just won't be able to go on.

  • Great tour.

  • Pleased to say on our second night we got the see a glimmer of the lights. The vehicle is very comfortable and not overcrowded. The company honoured their promise of if you don't see the lights you get to try again at no charge.

  • -I may have miss some small print, but the 'Super Jeep' was a 16 seat mini bus with big wheels.
-I never got answers to the emails I sent regarding the pick-up points, but they were helpful once I called to have an answer.
-Our first tour was cancelled due to rain and could only be rescheduled 2 days later, which was fine. However, when our tour actually took place, we did not understand why our guides were driving us to cloudy areas we followed our tracks on google map and matched it with the live cloud map of the Icelandic Meteorological Office. When we asked why we were stopping in a cloudy patch, showing the live cloud map, the guide answer was 'that's not were we are'. We then showed our location on google map and our guide recognised she was wrong, but we still stayed there. Lastly, we really wonder why the tour took place as the forecast of auroral activity was zero on a scale of 0 to 9 that night according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office. Of course, we had the opportunity to re-schedule but it was too late for us as our trip was ending.
-We are totally aware there is no guarantee whatsoever to see the Northern lights, but we left Iceland with the feeling the place is an overpriced tourist trap and we have travelled the world extensively
-We usually keep quite when not happy, but if they don't know how people feel, they won't be able to adjust their tourist policies / practices. And that would be a shame as the natural wonders of Iceland are really worth seeing. Once back home, we spoke to friends, and many had similar experiences in Iceland and felt like us.
-In the case of this particular tour, when the conditions are unfavourable like they were on the night we went out, it would have been nice if we were told about the situation and were given a choice to go or not and be reimbursed if we had decided not to go.
