Philip was a great guide, it was a wonderful time exploring the city by bike. Better than a walking tour in my opinion, because it's easier to cover more ground in the same time. Highly recommend!

The Rio by bike is a great tour for anyone wanting to explore Rio. Our guide was really informative and the route is almost all on bike lanes so is accessible to all levels. It was raining when we arrived in the morning for our tour but Jan was very accommodating and let us join the afternoon group and gave us some suggestions of places to eat and see to fill our time. A really nice team and definitely worth booking!

Overall a pleasant bike ride with brief stops along the way introducing some popular spots of Rio. Most of the routes were on bike lanes, but there were certain sections that were either slightly uphill or riding along with the busy city traffic. Nothing too strenuous or daunting though.

We were promptly received outside the Rio Othon hotel, Copacabana meeting point by Jan with whom I organised the tour a week prior and Marco who took us on the tour on the actual day. The bike tour is really informative, professionally structured and well executed. Marco has a wealth of knowledge about Brazil’s history as well as the various points we stop at and ensures you are given all of the details. We most certainly enjoyed the overall tour and went away with plenty of knowledge about Rio and Brazil. The tour we selected was the 4hour panoramic one which lasts the entire time period from start to finish. The actual bike ride although lengthy it may be, about 28kilometres round trip, the gentle pace is relaxing and enjoyable indeed. A must tour for everyone who visits Rio.

The perfect way to understand the history of the city, it's values and where to go! 🙏 The guides took us to the most interesting spots in town telling us the most amazing things. From amazing hikes with incredible views, to bike tours through the city and even going into favelas like you are one of the community. Friendly, thoughtful guides with who you can have a talk about anything. I would always recommend these guys! 👊

Booked a tour last minute, due to my plans not being set in stone. Rio by bike was able to accommodate me. Jan was on time and met me to give me all the info regarding the tour, had a map and was able to make an adjustment since I had already seen one of the attractions on the tour and change it out for something else. I was the only one of the tour due to the pandemic and tourism being down. I had an excellent time seeing all parts of the city while learning about history, culture and life in Brazil. I highly recommend this bike tour company. Also, the roads were pretty flat so even if you are not an experienced biker you can do it! Loved seeing the city this way, traffic was not bad either so no concerns, there are also a lot of bike lanes which will help you feel safe. Book it!

I had an excellent time with Rio by bike. I was travelling solo in January 2020 and bumped into Rio by bike on trip advisor. Calling and booking was super easy. On the day of my ride, I was the only one on the tour and I appreciate the fact that they didn’t cancel it because of too few people- they ended up taking me on a solo tour which was brilliant. The tour guide cycled at my pace so I didn’t feel rushed, had a good knowledge of the city and we stopped for a refreshing coconut break. We took loads of photos and I appreciated Rio’s beauty the more. Most of the cycling is on bike lanes and by water; what’s not to love? It was awesome and I would recommend! Also the açaí berry sold at the store next door to the Rio by bike shop is amazing!

What an awesome way to spend your first day in Rio! On a bike. We booked the Panoramic bike tour with this company and had such great fun. Our group was diverse and luckily not more than six people, from Europe and a couple from Canada. The guide was a local with good English. His information during the tour contained more than just some facts about the sights and the different neighborhoods, we also got a lot of insight in the local culture and customs. I really liked that aspect. The bicycles were good, with hand breaks and no gears - the route was basically flat. Helmets were also provided for. If you go, bring sun block and drink a lot of water. It can get hot in Rio.
