Know More about this tour

Start your day with a pickup from your Zagreb hotel, then travel south by air-conditioned vehicle to the UNESCO-listed Plitvice Lakes National Park. The oldest and largest of Croatias national parks, Plitvice is an oasis of interwoven azure-green lakes, thundering waterfalls, gushing streams, mossy caves and dense forest.

On arrival, after roughly two hours on the road, set off at a leisurely pace to explore the surrounding forest with your expert guide. Walk amid the towering beech, spruce and fir trees, and hear the rustle of wildlife stirring below the carpet of lush ferns.

Admire the rare wild flowers that line the forest trails and have your camera ready as you pass over the pretty wooden bridges that offer jaw-dropping views of the lakes. While the trails are steep and the route takes in some 300 steps, it is well worth it for the excellent vantage points.

Next, give your legs a well-earned rest and take a ride in an electric boat around one of the lower lakes. As you glide across the water, notice how clear it is despite the lake's vivid turquoise appearance from afar.

Following your boat ride, continue your route on foot, taking in ever more stunning views as you ascend to the higher lakes. Then, dependent on your preferences, hop aboard a bus or train for your final panoramic tour of this magnificent geological wonder.

After, enjoy around 1 hour of free time. Perhaps stop off at a cafe inside the park to recharge with some lunch (own expense). Then, return to your vehicle for the journey back to Zagreb, where you tour concludes with a hotel drop-off.

  • Just amazing. We could have had an awful guide and it would have still been an amazing tour.

  • Stunning, beautiful, must see.

Please respect the park and do not litre.

  • Pros
    1. Timing: On time pick up from pre-decided/ fixed location
    2. Tour guide Tamara: knowledgeable, provides the required information will provide you more info if requested, able to manage the group well, extremely clear in communication, accommodating and flexible towards any special needs
    3. Tour: well organised and good coverage with the much required break on the way to Plitvice National Park from Zagreb city.

    To be taken care off
    1. Although nothing to do with the tour operator, the queues at the lunch station may get very long as there were only 2 caterers. Hence, it might take longer than expected at the lunch area.
    2. Comfortable footwear with good grip is a must. Warm clothing it got a little chill as we walked up the National Parks during Oct
    3. Return to Zagreb city might take longer than onward journey considering the traffic jams. Hence, plan any events post return from Plitvice with caution.

  • Amazing tour and an amazing park!! Tammy was amazing and informative!! Definitely take this tour when in Zagreb! You won’t regret it!

  • Because our trip was at the end of the official season, we concluded that our well informed and courteous guide was worn out.

The bus was comfortable and the interim stop pleasant.

The speed at which we proceeded through small communities left us curious about what we might be missing.

Of course, the Park was dazzling!

  • Lucky us! After reading the reviews for this tour were blessed with Tammy Tamara as our tour guide. We knew the lakes were going to spectacular but our 2 hour ride from Zagreb to the lakes was made better with our guide. Tammy was very informative, gave us group of 16 the history of the areas struggles and ultimate fate. Tammy makes this trip at least 3 times a week but you can tell by her enthusiasm that she is so proud and in love with her country. I don't blame her, this tour was the highlight of my trip to Croatia, and that is saying a lot considering the country is awesome!!!

  • This is one of the most beautiful places on earth, I'm convinced. The tour is a small group of no more than 8. Our guide Andrea was pleasant and non-intrusive as we walked through the park. She was there if we had questions, but left us alone to go at our own pace and take photos/selfies.

  • Really nice tour, small group and the views are breathtaking. They stopped some other smaller lakes before as a bonus and it was great. The guide was very knowledgeable but very bland and seemed she was really bored of doing the same tour... a friendlier guide would have helped make this the best..

  • The tour overall was very good, as was the commentary. The only issue was it would have been better to allow everyone to explore as much as they could at their leisure. We felt we were rushed in order to cover all areas which didn't allow us to fully appreciate the beauty of the park.

  • It was very convenient to be picked up/dropped off at our hotel, for the entrance fee to be included, and to have someone tell us exactly where to enter. However, I was hoping this was more of an educational tour. Our guide gave us 15mins of Croatian history when we boarded the bus but that was it. I thought that we would learn about the lakes, the geography, or anything really during the walk. Instead, she would just tell us to walk in a certain direction and then wait for her at cross roads. Disappointing. We should have just organized this ourselves.
