Know More about this tour

Your tapas tour begins in the green and compact San Telmo park, a hub where locals like to gather, which happily plays host to different festivals nearly every other week.
We'll get ourselves recharged with a typical Canarian snacks and a glass of beer or wine in a family-owned tavern in Triana neighbourhood. As we sip our drinks, well talk about how the city has evolved under the influence of different countries and cultures and find out more about its fascinating history prolific explorers Christopher Columbus and Sir Francis Drake spent time on the island.
Well continue to amble our way down the historic streets before stopping at the citys oldest caf for a treat. Previous illustrious guests include General Franco, Salvador Dali and Brad Pitt. We'll enjoy another snack here maybe the same item from the menu that our famous friends ordered?! Here youll find out how long it takes to make traditional Canarian potatoes and about the locals favourite secret sauces, which are served literally all over the Canary Islands.
We'll cross the street to enter Vegueta, the islands' Old Town. Our next stop is the city's most beloved beer bar. Some local beers are unique to this joint and can only be enjoyed here, so those are the ones we will focus on! Well chat about the variety of wine and beer produced in Gran Canaria, which brands are the best (in our humble opinion!) and where to go to purchase a tasty gift or souvenir to take home.
As we continue to walk through the streets of the capital, we'll talk about how Canarian gastronomy has evolved, what is so special about this rich agricultural region and why our local food is different from Spanish food.
Finally, to round off a perfect afternoon/evening we'll stop for a coffee and a dessert at a charmingly cafe. This is truly a locals haunt; you won't see any tourists here and the sweets are fabulous and the staff are very happy and friendly!
Before you go your own way, we'll make sure you leave the tour with a whole bunch of ideas on things to see, do and, most importantly, eat, so that your gastro experiences can continue throughout your stay in Gran Canaria. Buen provecho!

This was my last stop in a month long journey through Spain. I was only in town for two days but they turned out to be very memorable. I booked the tapas tour to acquaint myself with the area and the local vibe. I arrived to the meeting point and Anula was there to greet me. She let me know it would only be the two of us due to a last minute cancellation. She was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and answered my every question. In terms of the food.... come with an appetite. This tour does not disappoint with food, drink or history of the islands. She suggested I visit a winery/ coffee plantation in the small town of Agaete. I had no plans the following day so I went. It was a lovely place to visit and the town is charming with a nice beach. It was a perfect day trip. No doubt I would highly recommend the tapas tours and you will be very pleased to have Anula serve as your guide.
