Know More about this tour

Spend a day discovering Pompeii and Amalfi on a small group max 12 people from Rome. In an intimate group of just 6 people per minivan, you’ll travel south to the UNESCO-listed ruins of ancient Pompeii.
Enjoy a short stop for breakfast on the freeway, and then continue to the main archaeological site. On arrival, you’ll learn about the 79AD eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, which took the city by surprise.

Hear how the Pompeii lay buried, yet preserved, for centuries in volcanic lava and ash, as you explore with an official site guide. Sights include the Macellum food market, the thermal baths, dining areas, and the homes of the city’s wealthiest citizens.

Leave Pompeii for the Amalfi Coast, where you’ll arrive in time for lunch (own expense). Make the most of free time in Positano to eat, shop, and soak up the sights. Then, journey along the spectacular coastline to Amalfi, a town famous for its production of ceramics. Finish with a tasting of the local tipple - limoncello - and relax on your journey back to Rome. Your day ends with a hotel drop-off.

  • The tour itself was great. The driver, Stefano, and the tour guide, Lorenzo, added greatly to the enjoyment of the day. Both were very friendly and accomodating and Lorenzo was exceptionally knowlegable with excellent English speaking skills. The tour in Pompeii was EXCELLENT with the tour guide, Stefano, having 30 years experience. The small group size added much to the ability to work around some of the large groups.
The only drawback was the issue we encountered surrounding cost. The cost on the website leads one to believe that the cost for the tour was for a total group in the van of 2-3 people. Apparently the cost is based on the number of people you yourself are booking with the group size of up to 6 people. Be aware and make certain that you understand this and are not thinking you are paying for a smaller group than will actually be the case.

  • Great tour guide, great driver. Local Pompei guide was excellent. Drive to Amalfi coast and stop at Positano was a treat.

  • This was a pleasant and enjoyable trip to Amalfi. It is a long day but the sites and the education at Pompeii made it worth it.

  • This is a great way to see Italy especially if you've only got a week. Pick up and drop off at your hotel is a wonderful option. We were picked up by our driver Stefan and tour guide Enna right on time. Both wonderful people. A little late in arriving at Pompeii due to having to change our route because of an accident but our guide there, Hector, got us back on track with his humorous and very informative walk through the ruins. On to Positano. The drive is very steep and winding so a few of us were a little worse for the wear but the final destination was worth it. Beautiful scenery and lots of shopping. The Almafi coast is beautiful. Back to our hotel after a day well spent. Enna was amazing with all her information and help. We would definitely recommend this tour!

  • Very much enjoyed the tour. Elisa and Hector were very helpful and friendly.

  • We had a fantastic tour. Only two of us were on the trip. The trip covers a lot of distance and we stopped at Pompei for about 90 mins and Positano for an hour to hour and a half and Amalfi for 30-45 mins. Our guide Ada was highly knowledgeable and gave us a detailed description throughout the trip. We were hoping to gain familiarity with the countryside and Italian people and we could not ask for anyone better. The guide in Pompei, Hector was also remarkably knowledgeable and wanted to give us an idea how the people of Pompei actually lived. We also had a great driver Stefan who was pleasant and took us through some backroads when the highway was blocked and got us to our destinations on time. Highly recommend if you want to see a lot of Italy in a short time !

  • Amazing day trip. We were picked up at our hotel by 6:45am and headed to pick up other travellers. Our first little pit stop was a coffee a toilet break at around 9-9:30am. Then we headed to a church close to the Pompeii site. Remember to wear appropriate clothes to enter the church. Next we went to Pompeii and we had a wonderful tour guide named Hector. Hector provided a good balance of laughs and wisdom. The tour at Pompeii lasted around 1.5 hours.
We then headed to Positano for lunch and were asked if we wanted to i stay at Positano longer, or ii have a short stop at Positano and head to Amalfi. Our group opted for the second scenario. Understand that traffic can be quite bad on the Amalfi coast, which was why our guide asked if we wanted to go to Amalfi or not.
I think we got to Amalfi around 4:15pm and stayed until 5pm. We got a free taste of limoncello lemon liqueur before having free time to shop/sight see. Our tour ended with us being dropped off at our hotel around 8pm... which we feel very grateful for the tour guides being willing to stay out that late. We understand the tour was supposed to end with us being back in Rome by 5pm... Thank you for the tour and for being so accommodating!!

  • Combining both Pompeii and the Amalfi coast in one tour makes for a long, 12 hr., day. Pompeii was very interesting but agree you do need a guide to prevent just wandering around the site, which is quite large, in summertime heat. Our site guide Hectore knew his stuff and showed us the most important of the remains. He also stated that much of what was recovered during the various excavation periods is located in the museum in Naples. Positano was worth stopping at to explore and have lunch but guide should have given a head's up to any on the tour that the walk down to the beach restaurant is quite steep and those with walking or breathing problems may take a while, especially coming back up. This one street is where most of the interesting shops are located. We felt that the subsequent stop at Amalfi was not necessary and that slightly more time should be allotted to Positano then drive back to Rome. Our driver, Stephano, was an excellent drive. Our guide, Elisa, could have provided more information along the drive down from Rome regarding various sites that were important during the invasion of Italy by the allies in WWII just to make the drive a little more interesting but she was a very personable and good guide at the sites visited.

  • It was a great one day trip from Rome! We had a great time! The guides and support was great!
