Fort Worth Tour:
Drovers, stretching their cattle drives from San Antonio or the Rio Grande, came to Fort Worth on their way up to Abilene, Kansas. They went to the Kansas Pacific Railway, where their cattle would be loaded for market. Fort Worth was the locale where supplies, rest and entertainment could be enjoyed at what came to be known as 'Hells Half Acre'. Before departing for Chisholm Trail and traversing the Red River into wild, untamed territory inhabited by Indians, cattle drovers stopped to enjoy what only the entertainment district of Fort Worth could provide. Millions of longhorn cattle were moved through Fort Worth between 1866 and 1890. The history of these cattle drives may be discovered by visiting Cattle Drive Visitors Center, Stockyard Station, Horse and Mule Barn and Livery, Cow Town Museum, the Livestock Exchange, Billy Bobs, and many other historical adventures along the way.

Return to your original departure point at the end of the tour around 5pm.

The driver was very courteous and knowledgeable of the tour and knew much information of the Dallas/Fort Worth tour.

This tour was quite good, especially the Ft Worth portion. I say this because Ft. Worth was a very touristy city and there was a real historical walking area. Dallas was pretty much driving around the city with our guide, Orlando, pointing out different building and providing some history. If it is your first time in Dallas -- would definitely recommend. The tour is a typical van. For part of our tour we had a few empty seats, which made this very comfortable. Portions of our tour (we took the 7 hour tour), they picked up others for those who purchased only portions of our tour. It gets a little crowded with a full van and at times may not be able to sit with your travel companions. Just be aware of this. All in all, I would do it again and good value to get your first look at both Dallas and Ft. Worth.

Perfect way to get a good overview of the Dallas / Fort Worth highlights. Guide was experienced, courteous and knowledgeable. Comfortable transport and well timed travel program.

  • 03-Jul-2019

The tour was very comprehensive and the tour guide was informative and entertaining. It covered the Fort Worth area well and then did an extremely thorough coverage of Dallas including some of the more interesting suburbs.

This was an excellent tour. It was an all day tour leaving downtown Dallas and going to Fort Worth and returning to Dallas mid day and finishing up the tour seeing great areas in Dallas. Our guide was David and he made the tour very interesting as he was so knowledgeable about Fort Worth and Dallas. We got to ride a bull in Fort Worth and we saw some beautiful areas in Dallas that you would not see if you were not on a tour. David was an awesome guide.

Most enjoyable and informative. Only having four people made it very easy to get around. What a fun place is Fort Worth!

So we decided we wanted to stay in Fort Worth for the entire day instead of doing the dallas tour. We organised with the company to stay and they said it would cost around 25 extra for us to stay there for the day and for them to pick us up once we were ready. We agreeed to this and stayed in contact with the company the rest of the day. When we went to the rodeo at 8pm they found me to see if we were still in Fort Worth and we told them that we were watching the rodeo and they told us thats fine give us a call when your ready to leave and we will send the car. However after many attempts at 10pm to contact the company. We were unable to get in contact. By 11pm we decided to call an Uber to take us back to Dallas. The company then rung to tell us that the power had been out and they were sorry that no one picked us up. However it is very unprofessional to leave 6 tourists stranded in a town away from their hotels. Would not recommend this tour company to anyone and would not partake in it again.
