You will learn about the rich history and philosophy of Confucius and TaipeiâÂÂs Confucius Temple, experience the cultural heritage and architectural beauty of the BaoâÂÂan Temple, see the workings of TaiwanâÂÂs largest and busiest fabric market, visit a traditional Chinese medicine store, and tour a traditional tea factory which has been in operation for over 100 years.
In the early morning, your friendly tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and board on a comfortable air-conditioned van. Your first stop is the Taipei Confucius Temple. As you enter the temple, you feel the bustling city-life of Taipei dissipate as a peaceful feeling overcomes you. Taking a stroll through the serene garden, you will see the beautiful Confucius Temple and learn about Confuciusâs philosophy and cultural influence.
Next, you will head across the road to visit the nearby Baoâan Temple. This 18th century temple has a rich history and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Â You will marvel at its colorful and intricate architecture and woodwork, and learn about its fascinating history, as well as Taoist philosophy. Â
Then, youâll head over to have lunch on the famous Dihua street, the central location of old Taipeiâs Chinese medicine and dry goods commerce. Walking around here before your lunch time.
After lunch, you visit Taiwanâs biggest fabric market, the vast Yongle Textile Market. Here has many varieties: seamstresses, tailors, and colorful textiles of all kinds. You will take a walk through the market and get a close-up look and brief interactive lesson about this business. Then, you will visit a very busy traditional Chinese medicine store and witness their specialists mixing herbs to make Chinese medicine during their business hours. This is an exciting experience to get a deeper understanding of Chinese medicine.
Last, you will tour a traditional tea shop with a working tea factory that has been in the same family for five generations. Â You will learn about how tea is cured and made. Â
At the end of this experience, you will be dropped off at your centrally located hotel in Taipei.
