Know More about this tour

Join us as we head west on a full day magical mystical tour to the Snfellsnes Peninsula and surroundings.

Countless lunar landscapes and volcanic vistas lie in store for us as we drive west out of Reykjavik and head towards the magnificent Snfellsjkull glacier.

The glacier sits atop the active stratovolcano of the same name that took centre stage in the Jules Verne sci-fi novel, Journey to the Centre of the Earth. You might even have spotted the ice cap glittering from across the bay in Reykjavik. The volcano is thought to house mystical powers and is considered by many to be one of the seven main energy centres of the earth, so dont be surprised if you experience an unexplained spiritual energy flow whilst in its presence.

This is an area is of exceptional geological beauty craters, lava fields (some more recent than others) idyllic, hidden coves and bizarre rock formations all lie in wait to be explored and discovered. Local legends and folk stories abound and are an essential element of this multifaceted tour. The day would not be complete without an Icelandic home-cooked early evening meal along with some local interaction - so, naturally, this is also included.

A fabulous tour that really hits the spot when it comes to observing volcanic phenomena, discovering Icelands dramatic coast line and experiencing a more spiritual and mystical side of Iceland.

Great experience and beautiful scenery. The drive is long but worth it. The dinner was absolutely delicious, true authentic home cooked Icelandic food a definite highlight. I would absolutely recommend this tour!

Trip was a very full day, with lots of great sights. Weather did cooperate after a cloudy start. Dinner at the horse ranch was delicious and very appreciated.

This is a long day with lots of time in the Van, but Tony had lots of good information and we saw several beautiful sites. This is not the most traveled part of Icelnad, but I am glad we added it to our trip

If you visit Iceland, this is a must do excursion!! It's a long day, but you see stunning scenery all along the way. Drive is all the way around the peninsula from Reykjavik with return. Great/knowledgeable driver/guide in a minibus. Dinner at a horse farm (in the family's home) with marvelous home cooking! Got to visit with their Icelandic horses.

I can't say enough good things about this excursion! Just do it. It is well worth it.

I loved my entire trip to Iceland and did various tours that I loved them all. However, this experience was the best among the best. Each spot was spectacular. We saw amazing waterfalls, beaches, stone formations and much more. Gustaf, our guide is simply and expert. Besides he is friendly and attentive. Thanks a lot Gustaf.

The guide is very attentive and friendly, lots of useful and interesting info. Unlike other tours this tour made me felt like I was with my family which is not what I expected.

Our guide was excellent. He taught me the proper way to walk down a slippery incline. The crater was amazing. The dinner at the farm was very good as were the horses we visited with after dinner.

You could hardly see MORE typically Icelandic natural wonders in a one-day trip than this tour packed with jumping out of the van to climb up to a stunning waterfall, or scrambling down to a black pebble beach, or heading into a barn to see these small unique horses. Ending with a bounteous family dinner on the horse farm followed by another beach stop, to search for curious seals swimming up near the shore, this was "Iceland in a day." We were 7 on the East-West day tour, with our wonderful, knowledgeable and laid-back driver/guide Gustav. He prepared us for what we were going to see, how long it would take to get there, and gave enough time to savor each activity -- never felt rushed, and never felt like we were wasting time on something not worthwhile. Special bonus: he's a great (and insistent) photographer -- made everyone feel special. This was a GREAT day!
