Know More about this tour

Join us as we head west on a full day magical mystical tour to the Snfellsnes Peninsula and surroundings.

Countless lunar landscapes and volcanic vistas lie in store for us as we drive west out of Reykjavik and head towards the magnificent Snfellsjkull glacier.

The glacier sits atop the active stratovolcano of the same name that took centre stage in the Jules Verne sci-fi novel, Journey to the Centre of the Earth. You might even have spotted the ice cap glittering from across the bay in Reykjavik. The volcano is thought to house mystical powers and is considered by many to be one of the seven main energy centres of the earth, so dont be surprised if you experience an unexplained spiritual energy flow whilst in its presence.

This is an area is of exceptional geological beauty craters, lava fields (some more recent than others) idyllic, hidden coves and bizarre rock formations all lie in wait to be explored and discovered. Local legends and folk stories abound and are an essential element of this multifaceted tour. The day would not be complete without an Icelandic home-cooked early evening meal along with some local interaction - so, naturally, this is also included.

A fabulous tour that really hits the spot when it comes to observing volcanic phenomena, discovering Icelands dramatic coast line and experiencing a more spiritual and mystical side of Iceland.

Atli was a fantastic source of information on our guided tour around the Snaefellsjokull national park, this helped enormously in our enjoyment of the wonderful vistas in Iceland. From wonderfull volcanic beaches to glaciers and seals, lots of photo opportunities(shoot and scoot!). The tour included a fantastic meal and we had chance to get closer to some icelandic horses at the stop. His enthusiasm for his country shone through , he is a credit to iceland, thank you Atli, from Dave(play ya ya ding dong_teashirt!) & Rachael(purple hair!), xxx

100% recommended Tour!!!!!! Alain was our tour amazing, was giving explanations and history throughout the whole drive and very appreciated he could speak almost all passengers’ languages. We very full enjoyed all the trip, excellent the stop we had for an home-cooked Icelandic meal at the farm..this was my second trip with East-West you never disappoint, thank you very much!!!

Baldor was a seasoned tour guide, a sharp story teller and kept us fully entertained for the long day. We were there in May, which is when the sheep are giving birth. Baldor had arranged for us to visit one of the farms, and see the tiny lambs, some of which were less than a day old. What an amazing experience… he really went above and beyond. The peninsula was beautiful, but I was glad we did it first, because so much of Iceland is more spectacular. So the peninsula is a nice trip if you have time, but not must do. But East West did a great job!

Walking and hiking along the coast was spectacular. Halli was a great tour guide, we all enjoyed his story telling. Loved the hearty home cooked meal at the farm house. Waterfalls were beautiful!

Our tour guide Alain was great, gave great explanations and history throughout the whole drive which we loved. The places we visited were amazing. Giving only a 4 because the tour says its for 15 people max and we were 18.

TAKE THIS TOUR! I read reviews from many companies and am so happy I chose this company. Petra was beyond amazing- hilarious, warm, so knowledgeable. Petra was very clear about what the day would look like and when the bathroom and food breaks would be and made this amazing yet long day go by in a blink. The meal provided by Jóhanna was so amazing. The van was so comfortable and clean. This was one of the best travel days I have had.

We loved every bit of our tour with LeRoy. He made a dark, dreary day fun and informative. He had great stories and Viking legends. We all learned so much. He gave explicit instructions at each stop (much appreciated). The sights were very impressive. This one is not to be missed.

What an amazing day! Leroy was an excellent guide and really took care of us. Small group made it a more personable experience. Amazing sights and the food was fantastic. One of the best days I’ve had here so far. Would absolutely recommend.
