Know More about this tour

Once you are picked up from your hotel, your driver/guide takes you to Thingvellir National Park (about 1 hour away). Learn about the history of UNESCO-protected Thingvellir.

Then head off to Silfra fissure, where you will be given a thermal undergarment (Teddy-bear suit) and dry suit with snorkeling equipment (all snorkeling equipment is well-maintained and top of the line). Your guide will show you how to use the equipment to ensure a pleasant snorkeling trip. You will then gently float down the four main parts of Silfra - the Big Crack, Silfra hall, the Cathedral and finally the Silfra lagoon.

Explore Thingvellir National Park, and then head to the famous hot-spring Geysir and its area created by earth-quakes. See the nearby geyser Strokkur, which erupts much more frequently than Geysir. After exploring the geyser area, take a lunch break. Heading to the nearby Gullfoss (Golden Falls) waterfall, you are given the opportunity to stand next to one off the most beautiful waterfalls in Europe.

To conclude, you are dropped-off at your hotel.

  • I went there for snorkeling the end of March. The tour guide took some pictures for everyone under the water and said he will email us the pictures in 2 weeks. It is June now and I still haven't heard from him. I don't have any contact information about him provided by him or the company to retrieve my photos...

  • I was very excited for this tour especially after reading all the great reviews, however I was disappointed. We were not taken in a 4x4 jeep as the tour indicated and although the snorkeling was beautiful it was so cold and uncomfortable. I was totally aware of the fact that the water would be cold, but they made you change outside in the snow...and once you are cold you never warm up. The hot cocoa and snacks provided were a tin of cookies and powder hot chocolate we mixed with hot water in the back of the van. For 269 per person I was not impressed. I would say skip this tour, rent a car and explore on your own...way cheaper and way more fun!

  • This was a phenomenal experience. Cristian picked us up at our hotel in Reykjavik. At Silfra Ivan helped us suit up for snorkeling. We learned, laughed and took pics before jumping in the crystal water. We had coffee then went to waterfalls, geyser and had Icelandic ice cream at farm efstialda! Breathtaking

  • This was our favorite day in Iceland!! Joe and Carlos were awesome on the snorkeling tour. My mom is not a strong swimmer so she was very nervous and they made her feel as comfortable as they could. The dry suites are very warm so only your face and hands get cold. We continued the tour with Joe through the Golden Circle and every stop was beautiful. Thank you for giving us an unforgettable experience.

  • What an amazing experience. Our tour guide Joe was phenomenal. His calm demeanor and knowledge of the Silfra made for a fantastic experience. Snorkeling through the Silfra felt like swimming through an HDTV. The water was cool and refreshing I didn and #39;t want to get out. I would highly recommend tour

  • I booked this experience for my husband's 30th birthday and it did not disappoint! Our guide Ivan was really friendly and knowledgeable and made the whole day fun. We started with the snorkelling and despite it being FREEZING, it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Crystal clear glacier water, 100m visability snorkelling between two tectonic plates was incredible. Ivan took loads of pictures for us so we could just focus on gazing underwater. You get given all the gear and plenty of hot chocolate and cookies after to warm up which is definitely needed. We were lucky enough that after the snorkelling the rest of our group all dispersed so it ended up being a private tour for the Golden Circle tour! On the way back to our hotel Ivan took us to a lovely ice-cream place which was really nice and a great way to end the day. Highly recommend this tour, yes the water is cold but it's an experience worth doing.

  • This was amazing especially the snorkelling, Ivan was our guide and he was excellent, Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about everything. We started with the snorkelling in a larger group which was one of the highlights of our trip celebrating my Brothers 50th my Mum's 80th Birthday, was even worth braving the cold for. We then went on with Ivan for the rest of the tour which as there was only the two of use was tailored exactly to our requests. Highly recommended, would love to go again.

  • We had an incredible day with Ivan. Our tour group was small, only 4, which made it really nice and personal. Compared to being hoarded onto a huge tour bus, this was a very pleasant alternative. The view snorkeling is incredible. You get VERY cold prepping to go in, mostly the waiting at the entrance for other groups to make their descent, but it is worth it once you're in the water. Your hands and face get cold but the rest of your body is fine. It makes for a very long day, and we were exhausted afterwards, but it was so worth it. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone else I know coming to Iceland.

  • I was very nervous for this tour, as I'm not a great swimmer and have not snorkeled often. Our guide was able to prepare us well, including rubber bands and collars on the smaller folks to ensure the water would not enter our dry suite, which made me a bit more confident. Going into the water, you wait for other diving and snorkeling groups, though it was quick. Gave us time for some group photos, etc. I was the first one to enter the water from my group, and it felt like another planet. It's cold, yes, but you don't really feel it. Our guide suggested floating with your hands in the small of your back, which I did and that kept them out of the cold water. It's SO blue, and empty, and stunning. As someone in our group was having trouble with the snorkeling, our guide was a bit tied up for the first few minutes, so I just continued floating. One thing to note, there's no break. No spot to stand and adjust your mask, or take a break. Once you're in the water, you breathe through your mask for the next 30 minutes. I felt panicky a few times, but was able to calm down and focus on the beauty. I did not try to take any photos, though 2 people in our group did. Only 1 was able to work the camera while snorkeling. All in all, I was super proud to complete it, and was the last one out of the water too! After that, we warmed up a bit before visiting the Golden Circle spots. This was my only golden circle visit, and I felt it was sufficient. Though the weather wasn't great, I was well prepared in rain/warm gear. Highly recommend. Our guide was Ivan, who was friendly though had only lived in Iceland for 6 months.

  • This tour was amazing, a once in a lifetime experience! Our guide took us snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure with one other couple, our own private tour! Ivan knew a lot of interesting facts about the Golden Circle which he happily shared with us. Thankfully the water was not too cold with the gear!
