Know More about this tour

As an adventure-seeker you will simply love this new thrill ride that takes you on the Soualiga Sky Explorer with the landscape unfolding below to the top of St. Maartens highest mountain. Then youll go flying back down on the worlds steepest zip line.

Each adventure begins in this restored plantation house originally built in the 1700s. The Museum tells the powerful story Trace Wilson who was born into slavery on the property in 1818 and her direct descendant Emilio Wilson. You will see depictions of what life was like on a plantation and learn about the customs, traditions, lifestyle and stories that earned Sint Maarten the nickname The Friendly Island.

Embark the Soualiga Sky Explorer for the approximately 25-minute ride to the top of Sentry Hill, St. Maartens highest elevation at 1,125 feet. A series of platforms encircle the mountaintop showcasing 360-degree views of the whole island including vistas of neighboring islands Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barts and Anguilla.

A brief orientation will prepare you to fly down the mountain at speeds of up to 56 miles per hour on the worlds steepest zip line, The Flying Dutchman. Youll be attached to a flight line in a secure harnessed chair, launching you on the 1050-foot drop in elevation over 2800 feet to experience the ride of a lifetime.

After your fun-filled adventure, select your favorite photo and video then enjoy exploring the Estate and sampling St. Maarten delicacies, snacks and beverages at the Emilios Restaurant.

Had the best experience at the Flying Dutchman. The staff were all so friendly and excellent, especially Gerald! He was extremely informative and helpful with the zip lines and ensured I was safe and having fun the entire time. Would highly recommend if you are visiting St. Maarten. It definitely was a highlight of my trip.

We had a great time. My husband thought it would be cheesy as we’ve been on various zip lines, but he said he was pleasantly surprised. The views are spectacular at the top and worth the cost just for that alone. There are various lookouts/benches with information about the surrounding islands in view. The ride up in the chair lift is relaxing and the zip down is a sling seat that you don’t have to worry about controlling the descent speed. I’m not sure if anyone with a walking disability would be able to participate as there are multiple levels/steps, so you would need to check that accommodation. It might be possible to stay on the chair lift too. They’ll take your photo at the top and near the end of the zip for purchase. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The history museum on the grounds was informative. I recommend going early i.e. before they open to beat the crowds and complete paperwork. Our tickets were purchased online but you’ll still need to complete waivers. Closed-toe shoes required. The inner tube ride seems like it’s been closed for awhile and we didn’t do the multi line zip course, so I don’t have a review on those activities.

80th birthday gift. What fun. Coming back on my 90th. Highly recommended. Beautiful 360 degree views of the island.

It was a good venture. The flying Dutchman was not bad at all. Before you know it, the flight is over. The ride up takes about 20 to 25 minutes. It's a beautiful view. The operators are friendly. We had no problems at all. Don't take a large bag and bring money for drinks at tge top.

This activity was one of my Birthday celebrations with my cousin who lives in St. Maarten. I am more the adventurous one so it was exciting to know that he, his wife and a friend of mines explored this wonderful adventure. It was a beautiful scenic route going up the hill and once up there it was breath taking. Seeing the various islands, Saba, Statia etc. The wait was a bit long but the scene was beautiful. We all had a great wonderful experience. This particular zip lining is in a seated position. I also enjoyed reading the history fact of Emilio Wilson that used to live on the premises. The only negative part was that for whatever reason, our picture was not snapped on the ride going up. Then also, my husband picture was not snapped either coming down. So they definitely need to make sure that every person picture is snapped. Otherwise we had a Great Experience!

This was wonderfully fun - in a beautiful spot with a lovely staff who added to the experience. The steep zipline is done in something more like a chair than a harness, so it wasn’t as heart pounding as I hoped, but still fun. Perfect for newbies.
