Know More about this tour

After meeting up with your tour guide as you exit the cruise terminal join the executive coach for the journey to Bath. Drive into the Mendip Hills and down the valley road into Bath. On arrival there will be a guided walk with your tour guide followed by optional entry to The Roman Baths. Walk along the original Roman paving, admire the steaming baths and see the ruins of the temple. Bath is one the UKs most popular tourist destinations, welcoming tourists for many centuries from the Celts to the Romans to the present day. The city is also home to the Jane Austen Centre, offering you a window into how it would have been to have lived in Regency times.

After some free time in the city depart for The Cotswolds and passing through hamlets and villages with a lunch break in Lacock. Step back in time to a place that has hardly changed in 400 years. Now owned by the National Trust, Lacock is so perfectly preserved that it is no stranger to film and TV productions. Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, Cranford, Pride and Prejudice have all had scenes filmed here and you will be given an eye-opening guided walk of the village, including it's ancient Tithe Barn and lock-up after a delicious homemade lunch at the ancient George Inn.

  • I really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it. It was a nice way to end a cruise. It was both interesting and relaxing. The tour guide was knowledgeable about the area. It was a small group which made it nice. We were not rushed thru the tour. Bath is a great city to visit
and the Cotswolds area is very nice. Nice stop in a charming village.

  • It was a Ok tour.

  • Our post-cruise excursion was one of the highlights of our trip. We retrieved our luggage at the cruise port in Southampton and the bus was waiting right outside the exit door. The scheduled pick-up time was 8:00 am with an 8:30 am departure time but the bus was there by 7:30 am and all of the travelers were loaded early and we got an early start on our way to Bath. There was some confusion for travelers who had booked the tour through Viator versus those who had booked it directly with the tour company. The Viator website did not specify that you had to book the tickets for the Roman baths in addition to the tour price so we didn't have tickets, nor did about half of our traveling companions. Our tour guide was very helpful and sold Roman bath tickets at the pre-tour group price. We didn't have a problem with doing so but there was one family who was somewhat upset over having to pay more to actually see the Roman baths. This is something to keep in mind!

The Costwold village that we visited for lunch, Labcock, was beautiful and the lunch was very good. We had plenty of time to walk around the village taking pictures, including pictures of a couple of houses from the Harry Potter movies. After that the bus driver dropped off everyone at their hotels near Heathrow or in London. We were the first ones dropped off so we got to our hotel a little earlier than expected, which was another bonus.
