An insightful, powerful daytour about the events that happened in Srebrenica (July 1995) and how this is remembered today. My friend and I have previously walked the free walking tour (also recommended! For a broad view on what the city Sarajevo upholds, with amazing tourguide Armina) And decided we wanted to partake in another tour organised by MeetBosnia Tours. Considering one of ours background is in Heritage and Memory studies we deliberately chose the daytour to Srebrenica to gain more knowledge and insights about what had happened there in July 1995 and how this is remembered or deliberately denied nowadays. Our tourguide (Adnan) provided us with a very broad historical background , details about what we could see on the road towards Srebrenica, extra information during our visit of the memorial site and would answer all of our many questions! There were enough moments during the daytour to take time to walk around the memorial site and in the museum with different exhibitions. We both would highly recommend this daytour to gain an indepth knowledge and insight about Srebrenica, the genocide that was executed there in July 1995, and the role of the UN (dutchbat).
I booked two tours with them in September 2022. 1) Srebenica - the experience was amazing and full of diff emotions. Our tour guide Emir was fantastic. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all our Q's. 2) Mostar & Herzogovina tour - with Aid and Haris. All 3 tour guides were amazing and would highly recommend. I booked through Hidaya who was helpful in organising my pick up from my hotel. Thank you for making my trip to BiH a pleasant one.
This tour is a must when visiting BiH to get a better understanding of the history of the war this country went through. Meet Bosnia is the best tour organisation to do this with. Starting from the communication through whatsapp and buying the tickets to the tour itself: everything was clearly explained and the staff are very friendly. Our tour guide, Safet, was very knowledgeable. He gave us extra information while on tour and told us a lot of anecdotes about the history of Srebrenica. It was a very memorable day! I highly recommend this tour to everyone willing to, not only do the standard tourist activities in Bosnia, but also willing to learn more about one of the most horrific wars we have had in current day history. Heartbreaking but absolutely worth it!
It's a must to go to Srebrenica when visiting Bosnia. While searching for the different options for visiting Srebrenica we discovered "Meet Bosnia" and we chose to go on their tour to Srebrenica. Let me tell you, this was by far one of the best (if not the best) tours that I had ever been on. We had Safet as our guide. Safet was super knowledgeable about the war and about everything that is connected to Srebrenica and even about a lot of other things as well. Safet gave us very detailed information and made us relive the war which was an amazing feeling, unfortunately under a sad context. Our tour was amazing and we also had all the time to learn about everything in a very detailed way. Meet Bosnia organises the tour in a very good way and you always feel at ease when touring with them. I would recommend anyone visiting Bosnia to take this tour to Srebrenica with Meet Bosnia, and if you can have Safet as your guide that would make it even more amazing!
I learned so much during my trip to Srebrenica with Adnan. He explained the complicated history of the region, the war, and the genocide in an easy-to-understand way and was so knowledgeable about every aspect. The memorial and museum were very moving and I'm very glad I included this tour on my trip.
A very thought-provoking trip. Saalem, our driver and host, gave a detailed account and even took a more scenic route on the way back to Sarajevo. The food was amazing! The war is clearly fresh in people's minds and truly highlighted the brutality of war.
The visit for the Study Tour to Srebrenica was led by Adnan, both driver and guide for the day. Outside of Bosnia-Herzegovina we know some of what happened through the media, however with Adnan’s experience and knowledge we got more of an insight of the build up of the events around July 1995. The first visit of the day was to the cemetery. A moving experience for anyone. From here we moved onto the Museum where more of the moving testimonies were shown including a half an hour video. A further moving experience. The last part was the Memorial, where again further moving experiences were sought. After a drive into the town afterwards and a view point overlooking the town, by a road which am pleased Adnan had drove us too as it was extremely high up we then made our way back to Sarajevo. We elected in the car not to stop for a late lunch on the way back. Certainly not a trip for children, but for those who have interests in the former Yugoslavia or 20th century history in general I would suggest as a learning experience to gauge an understanding then this tour is one to consider. Adnan Hvala.
It's unforgetable experience, I'm strongly recomend to everyone. Adnan is the best guide to this tour. He has amazing knowledge of history of region and esspecially Srebrenica. 11/10!!
This tour should be at the top of every visitor's "MUST DO" while visiting Sarajevo. It is a very moving, thought-provoking, and transformational experience. I had only done a couple of yours through Viator before and was impressed with their professionalism beginning to end. Tour Guide Adnan was exceptional. He shared his expert and comprehensive knowledge with clarity and heart. His demeanor, humor, and authenticity made the day so enjoyable. I am so glad I made the commitment to this day.
Me and my girlfriend had an amazing time on this tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the topic and answered all of our questions, her English and French language skills were excellent and she was very friendly and accommodating, would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Balkan history in general.
