Overview
Enhance your Hawaiian vacation with a stand-up paddleboard lesson in Kona! Stand-up paddleboarding (or SUP) originated in Hawaii and is a great way to enjoy the water, particularly if you are looking for an alternative to surfing. With an experienced instructor, learn the proper paddling technique, how to maneuver your board and what to look for on the water. This small-group lesson is limited to four people, ensuring you have a personalized experience.Itinerary:
Stand up paddle board lessons start with a brief on land demonstration where your instructor will go over a few safety tips such as how to wipeout properly and basic stand up paddle etiquette. Next, we show you how to correctly position yourself on the paddle board, the right way to hold your paddle and how to correctly paddle while kneeling and standing on the paddle board. Once you have practiced the correct SUP techniques on land, it off to the warm, blue waters of Kahaluu Bay to practice your skills. In the water, your SUP instructor will monitor your progress and show you more advanced paddling techniques if you are ready. We can even teach you how to ride waves and surf on a stand up paddle board!

Our instructor made us comfortable and made paddle boarding easy & safe. The water was gorgeous so we could see fish & we even saw a sea turtle! Great experience!!!

It was very windy and we were taken out too far. We spent most of the time paddling to fight the wind. One person managed to stand and paddle. The instructor seemed frustrated that the other person wasn’t as capable and ended the lesson early.

Private paddle board lessons worked very well for my adult kids who had never paddle boarded before. They were happy with the experience. Their instructor also took them snorkeling which they enjoyed.

The first scheduled lesson was cancelled because of high surf. They gave us the option to cancel or reschedule. I ended up cancelling and my sister re-scheduled. We were staying at one of the resorts and didn't realize the location was 30 minutes away from the resort, which was partly our own fault. My sister ended up cancelling as our lesson was at 7:00 am and we thought it was at the resort, not 30 minutes away.

This was a great experience from beginning to end. The staff is the best. We had Dominque as out guide. She was kind, patient and so helpful. The water is magnificent and the paddle boarding is even better! If you have the opportunity….take it! You won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I stopped by and had a great experience with this company. We both wanted to try paddle boarding and after a brief tutorial, we were out in the ocean standing up and having a blast!
