Overview

Experience the summer solstice at Stonehenge on a sunset or sunrise excursion from London! The astrological celebration at the ancient site has become an annual pilgrimage for druids, sun worshipers and revelers who flock there to welcome the summer. Embrace the festival atmosphere during a sunset viewing on June 20 or a sunrise viewing on June 21, and walk right inside the stone circle itself. Sunset viewings include a trip to the nearby stone circle at Avebury and a light supper in the village of Lacock.

Absolutely won’t experience. The mist and low clouds at 4.00 o’clock in the morning surrounding Stonehenge was giving an eerie, mystical and spiritual feeling. The changing colours of Stonehenge as the sun rose was amazing along with the sound of drums and chanting, made it worthwhile going without sleep. Would definitely recommend visiting Stonehenge for the summer solstice.

Went first the sunset tour April 12 2023 with Peter as our guide. This was an experience of a lifetime and worth every cent. The weather was awful but we were dressed for it and got an hour in the inner circle. Thanks Peter for your knowledgeable and entertaining banter! The Bath and Lacock parts were nice too but I was there for Stonehenge and was totally satisfied 😌

On Tuesday 19th of July at 8:15 we were in the bus and arrived at Stonehenge at about 10-11 am. The driver told us to get all our belongings from the bus because another driver was supposed to pick us up at 2 pm (the driver said that). The driver left with the bus. By the way it was +38 degrees outside. At 2 pm we came to the parking with the whole group we arrived with - around 15 people. We came to the Premium tour bus but the driver (another one) said he was waiting for his group and would go back to London only at 3-45 pm. So, no other buses arrived. We were waiting for another group from 2 pm to 3-45. It was unbelievably hot. We missed the musical that we planned to go to after the tour. And we could call to anyone because the line was always busy

Well this was a one off on Solstice eve going to Avebury and Stonehenge when the Druid gathering at the stones taking place which we could join in with. Magical. And a lovely meal at Laycock ancient village. Our travel guide was friendly and knowledgeabe and related well to us motley crew. The only fault in the information was saying we would have supper before seeing the stones. The meal was at 4.30 pm and actually a late lunch so wished I hadn't eaten lunch on setting off. We will go again at Winter Solstice if there is a trip then.

For a sunrise trip, only transportation and the sunrise event itself are included (there is not enough time to explore the grounds better). Not worth the price.

The coaches were rather old, the bus driver was not speaking English but something like English, so we could not understand what he was saying, and the trip was far too expensive for what it offered. Stonehedge is so well marketed through photographs, but in fact, it's not at all magnificent and in our opinion is not worth visiting, especially with so much money. We are very sorry for that.

The worst transport company i have ever used. The delay was 40 minutes. When we finally boarded to the bus the AC was really strong running on the highest point. I asked them 2 times to turn the AC off or set the temperature on a normal balance, because i saw 18 degrees on the screen while the outdoor temperaure was the same. That is not normal to cool the bus in that way. Only job of the driver is to transport us from one point to other one and feel us comfortable. At this point it ruined my whole trip sitting 2 hours in bus and next 2 hours back!! I didnt find any support on the website where i can complain and explain this horrible experience. I was not the only one, who felt really uncomfortable.

This was an absolutely wonderful tour - the highlight of our trip to London! The ability to visit Avesbury first and learn about henges proved a truly helpful approach. Learning about "lay lines" (the magnetic lines in the earth) increased our understanding and awe of why these circles were built. Lacock was interesting - a quintessential English village - especially for Harry Potter fans! Stonehenge itself was amazing and to be able to enter the circle and touch the stones a once in a lifetime experience. We were able to talk with Druids and Pagans and witness their celebrations as well as getting fantastic pictures of the sunset. The crowd was large but extremely well mannered - we were very impressed! The only negative was the distance we had to walk to actually get to the henge. From where our bus was parked it took 40 minutes over fairly rough terrain to reach the stones. We would have appreciated a "heads up" regarding this as it would have made a difference in choice of shoes! Also, we were warned repeatedly to be back by 10:00 P.M. or the bus would leave without us as it had a "window" of time to depart. This was barely 30 minutes after sunset and the long walk was problematic! In spite of this, we would do it again!
