Overview

Artists tell you the secrets, the history, the techniques, the rules and the personal stories of graffiti and street art in a walk through a city whose walls are canvasses. A comprehensive history of graffiti and its culture.

Berlin's air is thick with paint. Its soundtrack is the clack-clack of a spraycan in the night. Tags tell as much of a story as five storey murals, a blast from a high pressured fire extinguisher can be as expressive as a centuries old canvas from a Dutch master. And we know the history and the culture of it all. Let artists themselves show you the sweetest spots and the finest pieces, whilst giving a comprehensive history of urban art in its modern day Mecca.

See huge murals, heaven spots and and throw-ups. Learn about trainbombing and tagging, stencils, paste-ups, stickers and everything in between. Tour includes Urban Nation gallery. Covers Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain and Schneberg.

Rob, our guide, made this tour an absolute pleasure. Our group covered a huge range of ages & knowledge, yet Rob's passion & personal experience kept everyone interested. Highly recommended!

What an excellent off beat afternoon.. Marnie was an excellent guide giving an overview of the history, artistic genres and techniques and personal insights. Really inspiring with her enthusiasm. Wholeheartedly recommend this tour. And, as an aside, definitely follow her advice of finding a local bar after the tour! It’s a great destination.

De gids was ervaren en gepassioneerd over street-art en graffiti. De rondleiding brengt je op bijzondere, minder bekende plekken wat ervoor zorgt dat je de stad beter leert kennen.

Marnie was a terrific guide. Loved her passion and knowledge of street art. Also great to see less touristy parts of Berlin.

Marine was amazing!! She was an excellent guide and very well informed on the different types of street art in Berlin! Her passion for art was very obvious which made touring the city even more special!! She’s also an amazing artist herself & is more than happy to answer any questions! The tour was extremely well organized, on time & I learned a lot!! 10/10 thanks Marnie!!

No your guide showed up. Got there 15 minutes early and waited 30 minutes while customer service made us wait to contact the provider who didn't answer phone, text, or email. Then told they will "request " a refund. I'm going to cancel remaining booking and no longer use Viator if I have to Request a refund. A refund should not be a question.

This tour was SO SLOW and the guide talked so much without saying anything. It took us 2.5 hours to go about 80 meters and look at 5 pieces of art. At that point, someone reminded the guide we were supposed to see art in two parts of the city, and she hustled us to see more. The tour ended up lasting 3.5 hours, and I think we could have gotten all the same information in more like 1.5. The depth of information given was things like "if it's a full wall mural, it probably was done legally, because that takes a long time." I learned almost nothing. You'd be far better off saving the money and just spending an afternoon at Urban Spree checking things out yourself.

This was one of the most engaging tours of our trip and we recommend it to those who are interested in contemporary culture, regardless of whether you know much about the street art and graffiti scene. Our guide, Ben, led us on a fascinating journey through Friedrichshain, visiting the RAW-Gelande art and culture space at the historic train repair depot and then on to Kreuzberg via a short train trip to view a world of street art and graffiti that we would otherwise have completely missed. Ben is an authentic voice and practising artist and we felt privileged to see the city through his eyes and to learn of the artists, personalities and stories behind the ever-changing landscape of Berlin's street art. We definitely came away with some favourites and a new found appreciation for this art.

Annika was our guide and an absolutely perfect host for this tour. So many great insights were shared with us in an engaging, friendly and enthusiastic manner. 3 hours VERY well spent in Berlin and a whole new appreciation for for the people that are part of the scene here. Thank you! ps For those that are wondering, this tour does not include any of the East Side Gallery wall sections (it's not considered true street art) so feel free to view that separately without any fear of overlap.
