My fiancé and I very much enjoyed our food trip with Garen. We opted for a late afternoon start, so we got to hit places other than where people typically go when the tour starts in the morning. Not only did we try a wide variety of food and drinks, but we also learned some of Taiwan’s history, including different ways of interpreting that history. Our favorite stop was at the very end when we loaded up on some of the most mouth-watering mangoes we have ever had.

This was a wonderful, well organized tour, bringing interesting insights to Taipeh also. The food was great. After my opinion Taipeh is very much underestimated. It is a very vibrant city with a lot of nice and beautiful shops. And the people are so friendly.

I absolutely loved the tour with Garen Chan which was totally tailored for me, thanks so much! We stopped five or sic times and every tasting was way better than the previous one, I was also stuffed by the end!

Outstanding tour. June was a great guide through the neighborhood. The tour was entirely walking through the Yong Kang neighborhood. All of the restaurants, food stands, and business we visited were excellent and June made great conversation the entire time. This tour is a must while visiting Taipei!

I’ve been on lots of food tours around the world and this was definitely the best! June was an awesome guide, sharing her personal story, walking through her neighborhood, visiting with food stalls, restaurants and shops that she clearly had connections with, and providing a not-too-detailed overview of Taiwan, it’s people, culture and politics. She customized the tour on the fly based on our tastes and interests. If you have a choice, choose June as your guide. You won’t be disappointed.

I had a long layover at the Taipei international airport. This was a perfect activity to get into the city and have some delicious food before my long flight home.

I enjoyed a memorable food tour evening with tour host Garen Chan. It was centered in a neighborhood I would find on my own, a great blend of new hipster boutiques and shops and food places alongside venerable old school food establishments that have survived and thrived for 50 to 100 years. Garen was the right blend of appropriate enthusiasm and energy, while following my cues of preferences for lingering and when to move on. Garen was greeted enthusiastically by several of the proprietors we visited. She is thoughtful and forward-thinking enough to have developed several small conveniences and tips that increase the guest’s comfort and enjoyment. (You need to do her tour to find out!) She's also a great conversationalist and was happy to chat with me about my interests which were about both Taiwan’s history and its current events. I recommend with no hesitation. Enjoy the neighborhood. Enjoy the food. Enjoy meeting the host.

June led an excellent food tour through a local neighborhood, providing samples of various dishes, originating from many parts of Taiwan. These are not the fried greasy offerings you see at night markets. We ended the tour with a long chat of all things Taiwan while sipping oolong tea. I highly recommend this tour.
