Know More about this tour

The tour will begin at 3:30pm, when you will be picked up from your hotel or guesthouse in an air-conditioned vehicle. Your friendly and knowledgeable tour guides speak English (and Khmer of course), and they will ensure that you enjoy your tour, pointing out areas of local interest along the way and answering any questions you may have. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the port.

On route to the famous Queen Tara, the biggest boat on the lake, in the heart of the floating village, you will pass rice paddies and lotus fields and will have an opportunity to stop and take some photos of the lotus flowers which are a deeply important flower in Buddhism (please note: depending on the time of year the view of the lotus and rice fields will vary). You will then stop at the Crocodile and Fish Farm (depending on current water levels) in the floating villagewhere you will learn about some of the trades people on the lake work in. If catfish, crocodiles and large snakes don't interest you, there is a souvenir shop and a viewing deck on board for you to purchase some presents for loved ones or take a few photos.

The boat ride through the floating villagewill allow you to see ordinary Cambodians going about their daily life in the floating village. Fishermen, boat-makers, markets, schools, spirit houses and waving children are always in plentiful supply on this mesmerizing scenic route, and it is not uncommon for the scenery to provoke silence on the small boat, as customers take in the sights and sounds that surround them. Once the trip through the floating villageis complete, your boat will briefly enter the edge of the great lake before docking with the famous Queen Tara, in the heart of the floating village, with unrivaled views of the floating village and the best place to watch the sunset.

There you will enjoy a well-deserved meal and all you can drink cocktails. Afterward, you can take a seat on the viewing deck and enjoy the magnificent scenery or chill out in our plentiful hammocks. If the weather is good, you will get a first class view of a spectacular sunset, the likes of which you will never forget. Even if there isnt a sunset, the magnificent and unique cloud linings that form above the great lake are always a spectacle to behold. At about 6:45pm youll leave theQueen Tara and head back to the port, where your air-conditioned vehicle will be waiting to transport you directly home, to your hotel or guesthouse.

What a wonderful evening we spent seeing the floating village by long boat then ending the tour with a nice dinner and drinks at sunset. Very enjoyable and interesting.

Bus old, meal consisted of fries, spring rolls, small pieces of fish, one casserole rye thing and two rice. Very average, not worth the money at all-go on a different one.

Had a great time. Our tour guide was very friendly and we learnt a lot from him. Also has the opportunity to have good discussions with him about present day Cambodia, it’s history as well as the tour itself. The food was very good, quite western and my children certainly liked it. As much to drink as you wanted - beer, spirits, cocktails. The tour involved a stop at the Lotus Farm which was great for photos and a look at fish and flower farming. The boat trip through the fishing village was quite unique, showing a very different way of life. Plenty of waving from the local children as we went past. There were life jackets in the boat just in case, but we always felt quite secure even through there was some heavy rain at times. Can’t do much about the weather but the tour accommodated for it and the boat was covered. Actually made for a cooler evening which was nice. We stopped off for a brief look at a crocodile farm as well. Then we ended up at the Tara Queen, a large boat laid out for dinner with great views over Tonle Sap Lake from every direction. It was a real adventure and our family enjoyed it. Very glad we took this tour.

Our tour guide was Mr Friday. He was a lovely person and explained to us the use of lotus flower, leaves, stem and root. We also visited a crocodile farm before going on to ‘Queen Tara’ for our dinner. Due to the weather, we are unable to spot the sunset. Even so we have great companions for our dinner and stunning view of Tonle Sap Lake!

It was a nice evening that surpassed our expectations. A pickup was organised from our hotel promptly even though we booked the tour just that afternoon. They showed up on time at 3.30pm. Mr Wa introduced himself, well spoken and happy to answer questions. We went into a smaller boat that took us through the floating village. It is a nice experience, clean and breezy. We headed onto the Queen Tara, the cruiser that is marvel herself, built in 1927. She is retiring gracefully. Food is great. Good vegetarian fare was lovely to meet other travellers and mingle.

Heavy rain dampen the mood a little as we could not see sunset. Guide did his utmost and overall trip still interesting with the floating village and the boat tara

Prompt pick up from my hotel. Stopped at a lotus farm, very pretty. Made our way to the small boat and started the tour through the lake. Eye opening to see how these people live in this floating village. Finally, onto the Tara boat where we were warmly welcomed and were able to order drinks and mingle with the other guests. Dinner buffet was ready very quickly and was tasty. Sunset stole the show. Transportation was provided back to the hotel.
