Absolutely loved it. Diego & the staff were amazing. Best excursion I have ever done. A must do when in Cancun. I highly recommend it.

There are so many tour companies out there doing these tours. I would recommend booking this through a DIFFERENT tour company, as I CANNOT recommend Small-Group Eco Friendly Tours (aka Eco Colors Mexico). Last week’s adventure with them was a complete disappointment, and this bucket-list experience was the main reason my daughter and I went to Cancun last week. We spent over 5 hours on their boat in rough waters and we didn’t see ANYTHING. I know that the tour operators can’t control the whale sharks, but they could have given us much better odds had they been prepared and a “good” tour operator. The radio in the boat we had didn’t work (a surprise to them once we got to the area where the whale sharks are seen). This is important because once one boat finds the sharks, they radio the other boats. So no radio… so we were on our own to find sharks. This was even more frustrating when I saw our spotter up on the roof of the boat nodding off several times. To make matters worse, our tour guide (Charli) was napping on the back deck waiting for us to find sharks…Not helping look for them at all. The real kicker was that there were boats that saw whale sharks before we arrived at the spot… we could have been out to the spot much earlier but we waited at the dock for over an hour for one last passenger to arrive so they could fill their quota. Such a shame. We all spent a bunch of money and lost a whole day due to this incompetent outfit. They tout themselves as a small group focused on Eco… but most of the other boats had same or fewer people and there was nothing Eco-focused about our trip. Like I said, there are many other tour companies that do this. Don’t choose this one.

This was an amazing experience! The crew was amazing. Especially Naara, she’s so sweet and kind and knowledgeable about the whale sharks. We got to take hour and 30 mins drive to the spot where the whales were. Then we got to swim these amazing creatures. After we took another short ride to isla Mujeres where the crew prepared us fresh ceviche and guacamole and chips! So refreshing! We got to swim in the clearest water I’ve ever seen at isla mujures. It was over all an amazing experience. Would recommend 100%

Amazing day out facilitated by the excellent Naara. We saw at least two whale sharks and, because we left later, there were only a few boats around the sharks. The whale sharks were very graceful and unhurried so the views were spectacularly close. We enjoyed them all the more given the previous days’ trips yielded no sharks whatsoever. The ceviche and guacamole in the unreal turquoise waters of Playa Norte on Isla Mujeres was a lovely and delicious end to the day. Finally, great work by the team who looked after our slightly seasick eleven year old twins very well.

The tour itself was great. We got to swim with 2 whale sharks, saw sea turtles, dolphins, and even a manga ray. Made us fresh Ceviche. Wish the beach time was a little longer. Would be five stars but are still waiting for our photos we bought of the experience. It has been 3 months and there is always an excuse. When received, will update to 5 stars

This tour is wonderful!!! Laura and her team worked so hard to educate us all and provide a great experience for everyone. We found the whale sharks after an hour on the water, and swam so close to them that we were practically on top of them! Playa Norte was stunning, and it was such a great feeling swimming to be swimming at such a beautiful beach while lunch was being made for us on the boat.

Awesome beautiful experience and great staff! From the great ceviche to the friendly staff it was really an awesome day.

  • 12-Aug-2023

Unforgettable experience. Thanks to Diego and his team we were able to swim along with a whale shark and even record it. Strongly recommend!

Unfortunately the whale sharks were difficult to find and there were so many boats (approx 40) each with multiple people that there were huge queues around each whaleshark and when they did appear they quickly dived down so only 2 pairs from our boat got to snorkel and only 1 of these actually saw them. For the others they had no luck. It felt like a long day out and something of a circus and it certainly didn’t feel like an amazing natural experience. We were told we were unlucky.
