Know More about this tour

After pickup from your hotel, set out to explore the island of Tahiti, traveling by air-conditioned coach with an experienced local guide. Your first stop will be on the west coast where you will visit the famous Marae Arahurahu, a relgious site dedicated to the ancient gods where important ceremonies used to take place.

For manicured landscapes, visit the Vaipahi Garden, where you can wander around a tree-shaded wonderland of waterfalls, ponds and colorful tropical flowers. Your guide can help you identify the plant life as you take in this botanical gem.

Visit Venus Point, located on Matavai Bay. The stop got its name from Captain James Cook, who observed the 1769 transit of Venus from this point as part of his work for the Royal Society. As you walk around the black-sand beach, note the monument that commemorates Cook's work here.

Next, cruise along scenic roads to arrive at the Arahoho blowhole where, when there's a big swell, water shoots skyward, resulting in what might be a free shower courtesy of the sea! Enjoy the beauty of the black-sand beaches and turquoise sea, a popular surfing spot.

Afterwards, visit Taharaa View Point for breathtaking panoramic views over the island before being returned to your hotel in Papeete where your tour ends.

Excellent coverage of Tahiti, tour guide pleasant fellow, engaging, informative. Enjoyed tour despite continuous rain.

Our guide was an excellent story-teller, weaving Polynesian history with his personal 26-year history on the island (he came here to do his mandatory military service and never returned to his native Brittany). He added new insights to the background of the marae that we had learned on an earlier excursion.

Point Venus and waterfalls were the highlights of the tour. Beautiful views and a lot of interesting commentary from our guide

Not happy this tour was cancelled the day before. Being on a cruise ship and having limited wifi on board I only found out it was cancelled when we docked in Papeete.

Another amazing tour with Viator. Gerard made each stop come to life with his stories about the folklore of the Polynesian people. His knowledge of plants only made the visit to the gardens even more enjoyable!

  • 17-Oct-2022

Gerald was entertaining and very knowledgeable about the island. He also accommodated English and French speaking guests. Since we were on a cruise, we were limited in what to bring off the ship. I would recommend the tour include a bottle of cold water and maybe a granola bar or crackers or chips, since it was 5 hours long with only opportunities to purchase drinks, but not snacks.

Ange was a great guide and shared a lot of personal anecdotes of Tahiti, which made the experience much more personal. Small group size and comfortable van. Most stops are near the main road and easily accessible.

As a solo travelers, it was hard to find a circle island tour where I could join a group, so this tour was perfect for me! Alain, the guide, was excellent; friendly, knowledgeable and multilingual. The sites were lovely, it was a perfect length and now that I've been all the way around Tahiti NUI, I have a better sense of where I am. Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed this informative half day tour, our tour guide, Allen was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English, if you don't hire a car or scooter, I would definitely recommend this tour as you get a great over view of Tahiti nui! Maururu!
