Know More about this tour

Leave central Florence, and travel out of the city by air-conditioned 4x4 minibus. Soon, the views of Florences travertine buildings and bustling roads are replaced with the lush green hills of Chianti, the famous wine region nestled in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.

Your first stop of the day is at a beautiful winery belonging to one of the most prestigiousItalian aristocratic families. Here you taste three wines paired with cheese and two oliveoils, but first theres a fascinating guided tour of the historic wine cellars and to the olivemill through underground tunnels that pass under the villa, and to the enchanting garden ofthe villa.
Hop back inside your 4x4 minibus and buckle up for an off-road experience, through stretches of Tuscanys ancient woodland and rolling hills, to your next stop: a traditional Tuscan restaurant. Take a seat and treat your taste buds to some of the finest food that Tuscany has to offer; your lunch is sure to be a highlight of the tour! See the Sample Menu below for examples of the dishes.

Feeling refreshed, continue with a visit to Greve-in-Chianti, a quintessential Tuscan town with pretty streets and quaint shops. Make the most of some free time to explore, enjoy a coffee (own expense) or simply soak up the unique Italian culture that abounds. Here you will also buy a selection of typical Salumi (cured meats) from one of Italys most famous butchers which you will enjoy later at the second winery.

The rest of your afternoon is spent deep in the Chianti hills at a vineyard that produces Chianti Classico wine. In contrast to the well-established winery visited in the morning, this second winery is smaller and less-known, but it has produced two award-winning varietals. Sample these varietals, and learn how innovation and ancient traditions have combined to make them. Finish with a sweet treat, and then relax on the journey back to Florence where your tour ends.

  • This tour was excellent. The tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. I have been to many wineries around the US and Australia but learned more on this tour that all the others. The big bonus was learning what good olive oil smells and tastes like. We had a bit of a bonus at the end of the day when we were able to attend a wine festival.

  • This tour was absolutely amazing. The views of the Tuscan countryside were beautiful and each vineyard we stopped at gave us in-depth explanations of their history and the processes used in making their wine. While we carrtainly got to try many wines, I found this tour was much more involved in explaining the wine making and olive oil processes, compared to wine tours in the US that we've taken that just want to inundate visitors with large glasses of wine. Almost everyone on our tour was in their 20's and 30's, so some of them complained a bit about the size of the tastings at each location. If you have interest in learning about Tuscan culture, wine making, olive oil making, all while eating delicious food and admiring the beautiful views, I highly recommend taking this tour. If your only goal is to get really drunk, I'd recommend just going to a bar.

  • Lavi was the best tour guide I have ever toured with. I highly recommend this tour. Whether you are on a first-time wine tour or you're a connoisseur you will enjoy this tour. It's for all types. Not only is it a beautiful and comfortable ride, it provides great wineries, delicious lunch in a gorgeous setting and plenty of history and knowledge. Lave was a blast to spend the day with, she kept it fun, full of education and made you feel at home. I attended this tour solo, not sure of what to expect and on my first trip to Florence - this was one of the best days of my entire vacation. I highly recommend this tour - try to get in Lavi's tour she is AMAZING!!

  • This tour was well-organized, fun and informative. Thank you!

  • The three vineyards were breathtaking and each had their own appeal. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. He made everyone feel welcome. This tour also gave me a new appreciation for Olive oil nuances. I would definitely go on this tour again.

  • Really memorable experience to get into the heart of the Chianti classico region. Full of gems of locations!

  • Our tour guide, Lavi, was wonderful. She explained both wine and olive oil making processes at the first winery and olive oil locations we visited. Between the first and second wineries 2nd was an organic winery, we had a selection of wonderful wines, olive oil and cheeses to sample. Later in the day, we stopped at a wonderful restaurant to enjoy more wine and food while overlooking the gorgeous Tuscan Hills. Finally, we stopped at Greve to do some shopping before proceeding back to Florence. It was so nice to learn about the Tuscany region and its rich history. All rolled together, was a great tour!

  • Highly recommended. Breathtaking views of the Chianti countryside. The Wineries visited were well presented and the tastings were brilliant. Lunch at a lovely winery was excellent. And most of all the tour guide was exceptional. I think her name was Luvy

  • Fantastic trip. Very knowledgeable tour guide, great wine and great food.

  • Our guide Martina and her extensive knowledge of Italy, wine and olive oil paired with Nando's impeccable driving skills made for a terrific experience. The winery tours are impressive to say the least, the Tuscany countryside is simply stunning and our lunch so delicious we're still talking about it! I'm more of a beer guy, but when in Rome...
