Know More about this tour

Leave central Florence, and travel out of the city by air-conditioned 4x4 minibus. Soon, the views of Florences travertine buildings and bustling roads are replaced with the lush green hills of Chianti, the famous wine region nestled in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.

Your first stop of the day is at a beautiful winery belonging to one of the most prestigiousItalian aristocratic families. Here you taste three wines paired with cheese and two oliveoils, but first theres a fascinating guided tour of the historic wine cellars and to the olivemill through underground tunnels that pass under the villa, and to the enchanting garden ofthe villa.
Hop back inside your 4x4 minibus and buckle up for an off-road experience, through stretches of Tuscanys ancient woodland and rolling hills, to your next stop: a traditional Tuscan restaurant. Take a seat and treat your taste buds to some of the finest food that Tuscany has to offer; your lunch is sure to be a highlight of the tour! See the Sample Menu below for examples of the dishes.

Feeling refreshed, continue with a visit to Greve-in-Chianti, a quintessential Tuscan town with pretty streets and quaint shops. Make the most of some free time to explore, enjoy a coffee (own expense) or simply soak up the unique Italian culture that abounds. Here you will also buy a selection of typical Salumi (cured meats) from one of Italys most famous butchers which you will enjoy later at the second winery.

The rest of your afternoon is spent deep in the Chianti hills at a vineyard that produces Chianti Classico wine. In contrast to the well-established winery visited in the morning, this second winery is smaller and less-known, but it has produced two award-winning varietals. Sample these varietals, and learn how innovation and ancient traditions have combined to make them. Finish with a sweet treat, and then relax on the journey back to Florence where your tour ends.

  • This tour was amazing!! In the morning, we visited a Chianti producer that also produces his own olive oil, and had the opportunity to se how the oil is extracted and taste the fresh oil right there on site. The lunch on the very charming and delicious Cantinetta di Rignana was a wonderful surprise, maybe the best meal I had in Tuscany. In the afternoon, tasting at Monte Maggio winery, with the manager of the state that is so knowledgeable, so passionate about wine, it was a blast. I highly recommend this tour, it's a very nice way to get stated on the Chianti region.

  • We had such an amazing wine tour to some fantastic locations! Lunch was definitely a highlight as were the delicious Chianti wines. I covered our whole day with photographs.

  • I was just looking at these past reviews and didn't realize that we didn't post a review on this tour, the very best part of our time in Italy. We were there for our 10 year wedding anniversary and actually on this tour on our anniversary date - Oct. 7th. Words can't express the beauty of the Chianti region of Tuscany, truly breathtaking. Both wineries were very interesting and the lunch was soooo tasty, pair with wonderful wine. The size of the tour was perfect, the food was delicious, the wine, the small town of Greve, and our guide couldn't have been better. Enjoyable, specatacular, a long day and is a must do and worth every minute. We will cherish our wonderful memories of this day and this tour! BTW weather was perfect in Italy at this time.

  • Had so much fun on this tour! We went to five different wineries with tastings and appetizers in all, lunch in one of them. Lunch was absolutely amazing served family style. SO GOOD! The people were super friendly and really appreciated you being there. The views and photos taken from these sites were stunning! Makes you want to live there! I mean, who doesn't want to live in Italy! We saw wild boar, stopped in a cute little town for cappuccinos and munchies on the way back to Florence. The guide was so informative. She grew up in the region and new everything about it! We also watched at one of the wineries them pressing the grapes, the whole process. Beautiful day, we went in late September and the weather was great! Definitely would go back. Was our favorite place in Italy!

  • This was a great tour led by a guide who was clearly an expert and very passionate about wine and wine making she also was completely on top of the logistics of guiding 20 or so people around the countryside. The venues chosen for winery tours and lunch were very accommodating as well as picturesque.

  • We loved this full day trip from Florence. Food, wine, cheese and lunch were amazing. They even included olive oil tasting at the private vineyard where we had lunch. I would highly recommend this tour - excellent value and very well executed!

  • This tour was excellent. The tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. I have been to many wineries around the US and Australia but learned more on this tour that all the others. The big bonus was learning what good olive oil smells and tastes like. We had a bit of a bonus at the end of the day when we were able to attend a wine festival.

  • This tour was absolutely amazing. The views of the Tuscan countryside were beautiful and each vineyard we stopped at gave us in-depth explanations of their history and the processes used in making their wine. While we carrtainly got to try many wines, I found this tour was much more involved in explaining the wine making and olive oil processes, compared to wine tours in the US that we've taken that just want to inundate visitors with large glasses of wine. Almost everyone on our tour was in their 20's and 30's, so some of them complained a bit about the size of the tastings at each location. If you have interest in learning about Tuscan culture, wine making, olive oil making, all while eating delicious food and admiring the beautiful views, I highly recommend taking this tour. If your only goal is to get really drunk, I'd recommend just going to a bar.

  • Lavi was the best tour guide I have ever toured with. I highly recommend this tour. Whether you are on a first-time wine tour or you're a connoisseur you will enjoy this tour. It's for all types. Not only is it a beautiful and comfortable ride, it provides great wineries, delicious lunch in a gorgeous setting and plenty of history and knowledge. Lave was a blast to spend the day with, she kept it fun, full of education and made you feel at home. I attended this tour solo, not sure of what to expect and on my first trip to Florence - this was one of the best days of my entire vacation. I highly recommend this tour - try to get in Lavi's tour she is AMAZING!!

  • This tour was well-organized, fun and informative. Thank you!
