We booked and paid with this company (Andrew) on 25/9/22 and confirmed on email 10/11/22 with a response from Andrew and all was on track for our tour from the cruise ship on 29/12/22. Then 2 hours before pick up at the port Andrew emailed to say it was an error in the booking and there was no tour!! Hobbiton is really hard to get tickets to at the moment as it is short staffed so to our devastation we had no tour - the one tour I booked and confirmed and we all were excited about. When we were at the pier, other cruise operators said they hadn’t seen this tour company for weeks and that he was possibly not in business any longer! We are now waiting for a refund! We are so devastated and would not use this tour company again!

Visited two great highlights of the Tauranga area. The local Maori guide was very cordial and informative. Enjoyed the Maori dance presentation and sampling of sweet corn cooked in the thermal waters. The Hobbiton movie set tour was so much fun with lots of photo ops and complimentary drink at the Green Dragon Inn. Our tour guide, Ray, was very organized and personable. We even made a quick stop at a kiwi orchard.

As great at Hobbiton was, Rotorua was a huge disappointment. If you are any kind of LoTR, you MUST visit Hobbiton. But Rotorua felt like a fake Disneyland-like experience only not as good.

Absolutely the funniest trip for the Ring followers. Well organized and a good chance in knowing how a magnificent film was made.
Draw backs, not suitable for elderly people, or being there in a bad rainy day.

Hobbiton is not to be missed. If you're a fan, doubly so. However, there's been plenty written about this... the unsung gem here is the Rotorua Geothermal Geyser and the Maori University at the first part of the trip. This surprised me with it's heartfelt introduction to the Maori culture and what they are doing to preserve it. In addition, our guide was one of the most interesting guides I've ever had. When he talked, everyone within earshot listened in on instinct, even the other guides. The drive between Hobbiton and the Maori Village is a bit long, but no other tour can give you so much. Just do yourself a favor and sign up before they sell out.

The tour was interesting and had a lot of variety. The Maori village was very enlightening. They live on a geothermal spring. The tour of Hobbiton was also wonderful, but the hills were tough for some of us. The story about why it exists is truly amazing.
