During your tour, you will discover how the German migration of the 1840s and 1850s influenced the development of this picturesque area. You will hear about the role of the Texas cowboy and the great cattle drives from South Texas to mid-western markets, and you'll learn about the legacies of both LBJAmericas 36th Presidentand Lady Bird, his beloved wife.

We will stop for a break in Johnson City at the National Park Services Visitor Center and Boyhood Home of President LBJ.

After our brief stop in Johnson City, we will head west to tour the beautiful LBJ Ranch and Texas White House on the Pedernales River.

After the LBJ Ranch, we will head further west and discuss the development of the Texas wine industry as we drive through Texas vineyards on our way to the old German town of Fredericksburg, where you will have 1 to 2 hours of time on your own. If you prefer, you can shop and eat lunch at an authentic German biergarten, or go to a wine tasting room or two. You can visit the Nimitz Museum & National Museum of the Pacific War. This Fredericksburg part of the tour is flexible, so you can do whatever pleases you!

From Fredericksburg we will drive past more vineyards on our way to legendary Luckenbach, Texaswhere "everybodys somebody." We will stop and take in the storied musical history of the colorful town of Luckenbach, made world-famous by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker, Gary P Nunn, Hondo Crouch, and many more artists and colorful characters.

AfterLuckenbach we will take a scenic route through the Texas Hill Country, through Sisterdale and its Sister Creek Winery, through another quaint German town of Boerne, and then on back to San antonio.

An amazing tour to the Texas Hill Country. Learned ton of history about the area and the state of Texas. Plenty of time to see many points of interest in Fredericksburg during the 2-hour stop. We even managed to visit the Pioneer Museum and Vereins Kitchen. Great country music around the fire pit in Luckenbach. Domingo was a great guide.

Could be a 5 Star if something changed. Luckenbach stop was only 20 minutes. Just long enough to go to restroom and gift store and quickly drink a beer. I could have stayed one hour. Wine stop was 30 minutes. You feel like you are in a shack. I was thinking we where going to nice vineyard. I would skip this or stop somewhere nice. Fredericksburg is 2 hours. We waited to get a table one hour for lunch and had no time for anything else. You can do wine tasting in this town but it was $30 for 4 tastings. I’m not sure what to think about this town but there’s not enough time to eat and taste. Decide before you go what you want to do. Lyndon Johnson was interesting and just enough time to ride the ranch and visit the Visitors Center. The Little White House is closed. The most important advice I can give is go to the Visitors Center to buy your tickets or go online and enter the discount coupon. There are coupons on the back of the city map. I didn’t get the discount code until after I payed full price but could have saved $30. And I called someone at the office that didn’t give me the code after I asked for senior pricing. They made me pay full price.

This was a great way to explore the hill country. Fredericksburg was busy on the Saturday but good to see. LBJ ranch was a good stop with a lot of history to explore. We really enjoyed the stop at Luckenbach since they had the Christmas market happening which was very entertaining. We would have really enjoyed to have had a few hours there. Our last stop was a winery which seemed to be a hit withe group.

This was a really nice all day tour to spend a day outside of the city. Eric was a very knowledgeable tour guide full of tons of information about the places that we went on this tour as well as information about San Antonio and the Alamo. The LBJ Ranch was really beautiful and interesting. The Town of Fredericksburg was great and I enjoyed the free time to check out the shops and have a great German lunch. Luckenbach was a real gem. Glad we went there to check it out. And the wine tasting was a nice way to end the tour.

LBJ ranch was great. Loved the Air Force 1/2. And show barn. Boyhood home was good. Would like to have stopped at the graves however.

This tour was a great introduction to Texas Hill Country. The area is beautiful! We especially enjoyed the tour of the LBJ ranch. Our driver/guide, Domingo, was awesome!! He gave us so much insight into the area and shared with us a great deal of historical information about Texas in general. Don't hesitate to book this tour - ask for Domingo.

The trip felt a bit rushed but was lovely nevertheless .The guide pick us up on time. He was a good driver.I wish we had a little longer time to shop

  • 17-Jul-2022

LBJ State Park Driver (Perry, I think) got political at times degrading LBJ talking about things that had nothing to do with the tour. For example, girlfriends and Vietnam blame. Congress must vote to go to war, not just the President. He also blamed Spur’s players for getting political because they spoke out against social injustices which they have every right to do. He needs to cut that crap out; I was offended and would like an apology from him.
