This excursion absolutely exceeded my expectations. I was the only one on the tour and my tour guide, Thales, was absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable of the region and it’s inhabitants (he was quick to point out an animals in the forest to make sure I didn’t miss any of them) and very well suited for the hiking. Thales extended the time and distance of the hike upon discovering my affinity for exorcist and more difficult levels of hiking so that we could make it to the top of Pico da Tijuca. The views of surrounding Rio were just incredible. The waterfalls included on the hike were just beautiful, particularly Cachoeira das Almas (waterfall of the souls). This tour an amazing experience, and one of my favorites from my time in Rio, and Thales is an exceptional guide! I would recommend this to anyone who travels to Rio.

The morning started with us riding in an open Jeep along the streets of Rio, once we got to the Tijuca National Park it was awesome as we stopped for picture taking and views of the numerous waterfalls, at one of the waterfalls we saw persons dresses in all white so we asked our guide what they were doing and he told us that they were performing a spiritual ritual, the hike that we went on we were able to see a number of trees, birds and waterfalls the most amazing part was the freshness of the air. We left the park feeling refreshed.

We really enjoyed our hike with our guide Lucas. He was good with our slower pace and told us so much about the hike and Rio.
