Short and Sweet. It was a short tour but worth a visit especially view from Chinese rock. I was able to see entire Rio from that view.

This entire tour was amazing ! From beginning to end. Our Tour guide Gisele was very knowledgeable and pleasant. She loves Brazil and very passionate about her job. Very experienced driver, made us feel very comfortable. Thank you!

Trip was good, we saw many interesting places (Chinese view, waterfall, old trees in the Tijuca forest), guide was very nice and knows many things about the area and history.

The view from the Chinese vista was one of the best views I have ever had, we even saw a family of wild monkeys. If you like hiking there is a short walk to a water fall, with nice cold water that you can paddle or swim in.
Our guide I think her name was Eva was brilliant, she made you feel as if she was a life long friend.
We had to travel back to Rio a different way that took us passed the maracana stadium and the guide and driver were good enough to stop and let us out there.

Decent but not really exciting. Guide should have been more knowledgeable about the Flora. Could do this easily without guide except we were afraid of high crime rate

The Tijuca Rain Forest Jeep Tour from Rio de Janeiro is an interesting ecological tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept checking to make sure everyone was satisfied. The only downside was there were 9 tourists cramped together on the jeep. With a more spacious jeep, the tour would be a "5."

Had a great time on this tour. Erica, our tour guide, was so energetic, friendly, and informative. She showed up on time. The Tijuca forest was beautiful. We enjoyed the waterfall and the views. DId not see much wildlife, but did see some funny monkeys. The group we were with on the tour was also fun. I would recommend this tour.

This review is more for what happened than for the trip itself. About the trip I can say that Tijuca Rain Forest is nice and is a good trip if you have a reliable and knowledgeable guide.
We were a party of 6. The trip in the forest was interesting and pleasant. This is the only good part. We had a guide that was a young lady from Chile, I think, without any knowledge about the forest. All what we asked was not properly answered due to lack of knowledge. We knew more about the plants than this lady. We met there another guide that was willing to explain us about what was there, and was interrupted by our guide because she was frustrated that we preferred to listen to this guy than to her.
I think that the biggest problem was with the local company that organized this tour. Having this guide without knowledge was pretty bed and turned out to be a horrible experience. On our way back on an open Jeep, we took pictures of the Copacabana beech. One of the tour members had a gold bracelet on his hand and was taking pictures. A guy on a bike was near our car, ripped the bracelet of his hand and ran away. I agree that in Rio this can happen, but with a "normal" guide this would never happened. I know that if one read the reviews everybody warns tourists about robbery. A reputable company should have warned us about this. Ofcourse that they do not take responsibility about anything, but GRAY LINE BRAZIL should have employed a guide that knew what can happen.
Our guided tour with a reputable company started after two days of this event, and the first thing what the guide was telling us was exactly about those kind of events.
When I complained to Viator what happened they declined to take responsibility, even though I booked the tour with them and they sent us to GRAY LINE BRAZIL to solve the problem. (their local provider) Of course this company did not take responsibility, but "as courtesy" they offered to refund the trip for one person if we provide a police report. It is known that in order to get a police report one have to spend more than 8 hours at a police station in Rio. Having 3 days in total there I don't think that this is normal, taking in consideration that the careless guide and the driver were witnesses and saw everything.
Conclusion: STAY AWAY of any trips organized by GRAY LINES BRAZIL and Viator should assume responsibility because we paid them. You can book the same trip with different companies.

The guide was really nice and the tour was great. We saw monkeys and a tucan! The park itself was beautiful and the open jeep was a great way to get around.
