The guided tour started a little hastily since it was the first day of the tournament and the guide had to tell a lot of info in a short time. But we got some papers to learn about sumo ourselves and we could ask the guide anything and she always told us what was happening at the tournament. Highly recommend taking this tour if you are new to sumo!

What a fantastic night. We were lucky enough to be in Toyko during a professional Sumo tournament. Before we left for the arena, the Tour guide explained about the history, cultural significance and the meaning of the bouts, brought a whole new understanding and appreciation of this national sport. Great seats too.

Yuki, our tour guide was THE MOST AWESOME EVER!!!! She was super nice, very professional, willing to help, explaning everything in detail and I could tell she loves her job! She was very proud of this national event and wanted us to have the best experience ever. Thank you Yuki for putting so much love and effort to this tour. I totally recommend it, it is worth it! This is some of the very best of Japanese culture.

This was fabulous. The tour was well organised, the seats provided a great view and the guide tried to give more information than there was time for. Also received lots of information on paper and brochures. Big compliment for our guide Ms. Honda. If you have the chance, go and see this.

This was a fantastic experience! It's well worth doing this as part of a tour so that you learn about the history of sumo and how the tournament works. We had great seats and the dinner afterwards was lovely. My only comment would be that I thought we would be getting a bus there but we caught the train.

We really enjoyed this day. We don't normally join tour groups but paid for this to get access to tickets for the Sumo Championships. It was really worth it. It is a pretty low key tour but we really loved our guide. I'd recommend paying extra for the meal too. It was of a pretty high standard.

There are 2 sumo tournaments held in Tokyo each year and if you are lucky enough to be there during one of these tournaments, this ancient sport is definitely worth seeing. We booked our sumo tour tickets through Viator well in advance of our trip to Japan. As has been our experience with booking tours through Viator, everything turned out as expected and our group of 6 adults had a great time. We arrived at the Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal at the designated time and had no problem locating the tour group. Our english speaking tour guide Yuki was excellent and our group had a great time at the match.

The Tokyo sumo tournaments usually sell out fast so I recommend that you make your tour booking shortly after the day that sumo tickets are released for sale. You can find out when tickets go on public sale from the Ticket Oosumo website.

Our tour guide was kind and helpful! The detailed information he provided made the experience more meaningful and enjoyable!

I wanted to cross off going to a sumo tournament from my bucket list and this was a great way of doing so! The tour guide was very helpful in providing the history of sumo and about the importance of the different ceremonies. During the matches, the tour guide made sure we knew which matches were up next and provided a detailed list about each sumo wrestler, including their ages, height and weight, special moves, etc. It was a great time, and I would love to do it again someday!
