Tongli is a traditional water town near Suzhou, whose origins are from the Song dynasty, more than 1000 years ago. This village was mainly built during the Ming (13681644) and Qing (16441911) dynasties, being an important trade town in the era.
When visiting this water village, you will wander through beautiful canals and streets, with stone bridges crossing the alleys. Civil residences as well as pavilions, towers, temples and gardens are scattered all around the town. Its famous attraction Tuisi Garden is a UNESCO-listed world heritage site not to miss.
