My friend and I booked this trip to go together but booked us on two different companies. Once we realized the mistake we called from our hotel and was on hold for over 20 minutes and had to go on separate buses as the tour guides were waiting. When we asked if we could go on the same bus they told us no the only way was to pay cash and then call to pay one of us back. With Viator causing this issue I wasn't about to take that chance. Well then we got to the island at different times and my package was way different than my friends. When we compared everything that should have been included like snack/breakfast on the bus etc. it was not the same service we paid for. Grey lines which I was booked on and the other company she was booked on gave way to different experiences. I booked many other tours with but I would never take a tour with Grey lines again. Not only did we not get the same services but then the time on the island was longer for her too. With the exception of the island being beautiful the trip was a complete letdown. Viator I expected way better booking from you and would not do business with Grey lines anymore.

From the time I got on the bus to the island to the moment I was dropped at my hotel this tour was incredible. So much fun! Tour guide was fun, the island was beautiful, and the catamaran ride to/from island was a blast. My favorite excursion while in Costa Rica!

This was such a beautiful tour! The boat ride was breath-taking, with great music, very friendly staff and excellent snacks and drinks. Once on the island, there was plenty to do and see. We did the snorkeling and saw lots of fish. We also did the banana boat which was really fun. I wouldn't recommend it for small children or possibly older travelers as they DO try to flip the boat and send everyone into the water. We liked it though. The lunch was fantastic! The fish especially was SOOOOO good. They also had lockers for rent at the gift shop, which I highly recommend getting if you're not going to be laying around the whole time. Don't forget to keep the receipt for it because you get about half your money back when you return the key.

Starting with the bus ride, it was way too cramped. There was no leg room and I am not giant sized. At 5'4, my knees were pressed up against the seat ahead of me. My husband, over 6 feet, was uncomfortable. Plus, the air conditioning did not work very well so we were cramped and sweaty. The breakfast that was included was poor. A tasteless sandwich and some other items was not what I was expecting. Luckily I packed some snacks otherwise we would have been in trouble.

It was a long bus ride and then a long 2 hour boat ride. But the boat ride did not seem as long as the crew was spectacular. They were very engaging and went around offering complementary fresh fruit, ceviche and banana bread. There was a bar that also was nice and I did not mind paying for the daiquiris as they were quite yummy. The top level had music and was more energetic while the second level was more chill and enjoying the ride. A pleasant boat ride over.

The island itself was nice. The water activities were additional but made it a lot more fun than just sitting for several hours. We rented the jet skis which was an absolute blast. I would definitely recommend the water skis. We also did the banana boat but a notice of warning...its purpose is to tip you off in the water. It is not a nice tour around the bay and smaller islands but meant to tip you off as a cool down. Was not expecting that so was surprised. My 9 year old son did not like it. If you are expecting a tip over to cool off, great but otherwise, eh. There was also snorkeling available but we did not partake in that water event. Just hung out on the beach. It was really rocky so not the best at just playing in the waves.

Lunch was ok. A buffet style, chicken and fish with rice and veggies. The food was mediocre but once again, the boat crew was also the crew helping around on the island and serving the food. They were awesome and anything you needed, they were attentive. bathrooms were primitive but it is an island.

So traveling back on the cramped bus with no air conditioning, it wasn't the best ending as everyone was smelling from the sun and beach. Also, there is a warning about using the bathrooms on the bus as smells tended to go throughout the bus. Enough said.

This was the highlight of my Costa Rica experience. The boat ride was great fun with live music there and back. The staff was amazingly polite and helpful. The beach was awesome! The food was good and it all seemed very well organized.
