Have an authentic lesson in learning the art of Balinese and Indonesian cooking on this half-day small group experience at a casual seafood restaurant in Seminyak, Bali. This is a fun and easy learning experience suitable for everyone.
You will be directly tutored by a professional Balinese chef who will assist you in learning the culture and reveal the herbs and spices used for Balinese dishes. Learn how to prepare and create an authentic Balinese meal as well as other Indonesian dishes. You can also chose the option to have a traditional market tour to find the perfect ingredients for your cooking experience.

    You can choose between two options with the main package a 5-hour experience including a tour of a local market and then a Cooking class. The alternative option excludes the market visit and is 3-hour cooking class only.

    If you are taking the 5-hour tour it will begin with a visit to the nearest local market from the cooking class venue. You will be picked up from your local Seminyak accommodation or the Pencar Seafood and Grill and taken to the market.

    The mentoring chef will accompany and guide you from one stall to the next to find the ingredients which are required for the cooking class. The chef will help you to identify and select the best local herbs, spices, fresh fish, meats, vegetables and fruits for completing your Balinese cooking experiment. You will discover which local ingredients that are easy to be found abroad, especially in an Asian grocery store. You will then use the ingredients that were bought at the morning market run.

    The purchase of the ingredients is included in both packages with no additional charges. In your cooking class the chef will bring an informative insight into Balinese herbs as well as the traditional local recipes. You will receive a recipe book containing the menu that you will learn to cook.During your 3-hour lesson you have an introduction to Indonesian and traditional Balinese cuisine ingredients.       We booked this for our family (15 and 17 year old kids) and we all really enjoyed it. We loved the way the chef interacted with us and allowed us to do the cooking where we wanted. All the staff did everything they could to make the experience great. The food was delicious. Highly recommend
