Next you pass through the Zabeel area, home to many opulent palaces of the Sheikhs. We stop for photos by the Rulers palace before arriving in the traditional centre of Dubai around the Creek. You pass the Al Fahidi Cultural Neighbourhood with its famous wind-tower architecture and cobbled streets.Meander through the Dubai Museum, housed in the Al-Fahidi Fort which dates back to 1787, the oldest building in the city. You'll encounter colourful exhibits depicting everyday life in the days before the discovery of oil. The museum features galleries that recreate historic Arab houses, mosques, Souks, date farms and desert and marine life. It also includes an exhibit on pearl diving, with sets of pearl merchants weights, scales and sieves.

In keeping with tradition, take what was once the only option to cross the Creek before the construction of bridges, an Abra or water taxi. • Enjoyed the tour a good knowlegable guide.

  • Truly amazing tour to get your feet wet in the culture and history of Dubai. Our pick up was right on time. We drove for a bit and then transferred to a larger coach. Our group in the back of the bus was fun and came from all over the world. The guide was knowledgeable and handed out water throughout the entire tour. We had a few photo stops with just enough time because it was hot and we were struggling with jet lag a bit. The Dubai Museum was interesting and a portion is air conditioned which is nice. We then got to take a short boat ride across the Dubai Creek to the Souk which was fun and put together very well by our guide. The Souk was interesting to say the least but an experience for sure. A perfect half day in Dubai!

  • very entertaining and knowledgeable guide Makhmoud on this tour providing lots of information, comfortable coach with A/C and water provided

  • This was brilliant.I was picked up and dropped by air -conditioned taxi ,met fellow travellers from Australia ,USA, and china who were lovely as was our guide who frequently gave us bottles of water and looked after us. .We travelled around to the new canal, Sheiks palaces, jumeirah mosque and a lot of the old areas before we reached the creek and the old fort .Then we sailed to the other side on an abra and haggled in the spice and gold souks. It was amazing and I loved every minute of it. well worth it.!

  • Very nice introduction to Dubai. We were picked up at our hotel exactly when advised. We were taken to a central point where we transferred to a small motor coach. There were only six folks on the tour so no problem with seating or seeing the sights. The driver was excellent and the guide knew the city and history well. We visited all the sights mentioned in the tour summary. We enjoyed the ride in the water taxi and the tour of the city Souks. We were delivered back to our hotel on time.
