Know More about this tour
Get acquainted with a major part of Roman culinary tradition by ordering a hot square of pizza bianca at a Roman Bakery. In Rome, people line up for these olive oil flat breads stuffed with prosciutto, parmesan and rocket. Unlike most pizza al taglio served at pizza shops around Rome, pizza bianca is a more like a sandwich. The popularity of this Roman snack also goes to show sauce or cheese is not necessary for a delicious pizza. Pizza bianca is a piece of crispy and chewy culinary heaven.
Street Food in Trastevere
while a savory and creamy plate of amatriciana in a cozy family-run trattoria is more likely associated with Italian food, street food in Rome should not be disregarded. Some of the most delicious cuisine in Rome includes quick street fare. From newer additions to the game, like deconstructed pizza sandwiches at Trapizzino, to fried filetto di baccala, Rome street food is to die for. And so, in the spirit of experiencing the as much authentic Roman food as possible, we stop at one of our favorite local spots.
Full-Course Dinner at a Roman Restaurant
A culinary walking tour in Rome isnt complete without a stop for a multi-course Roman dinner. Sit down and get comfy in a one of our favorite local restaurants. With a glass of wine in hand, sample an antipasto starter, two popular Roman pasta dishes and a traditional meat dish. Afterward, wash everything down with a digestivo to help you digest your meal. Limoncello will be served at the end of your meal and only then will you feel like a true paesano.
The Best Organic Gelato in Rome
Gelato is a staple food for Italians (and certainly a staple for The Roman Guy team). Learn how to spot quality gelato from the stuff with additives. This is your opportunity to try out some new flavors: from caff to fragola to pistacchio, there's a gelato flavor for you. Oh, and did we mention that this gelato is organic?

Excellent tour. We arrived in Rome that afternoon. Our guide not only explained the various types of restaurants as well as getting food samples. We only had 7 people, which made the experience even better. Then we had a four course first dinner in Rome. What not to like.
Our food tour in Trastevere was led by Dimitri. We were not sure our two teenaged grandsons would like the foods presented on this tour but we were happily surprised. Everything was delicious and enjoyed by us all. At each stop along tour we were met by friendly people who made us feel welcome. The dinner was delicious and a pleasant end to a lovely evening. We would definitely recommend this tour and Dimitri to friends and family.
Fiona was our tour guide and we really enjoyed her. We loved the neighborhood she took us to. It was fun and the food was delicious!
A delightful evening strolling through streets, tasting the flavors of Rome and learning so much about the Eternal City.
We absolutely loved this educational and delicious tour of Rome! Fiona was an exceptional guide, and enjoying great food, great wine, and great company was the perfect end to our Roman honeymoon.
Fun way to begin our visit to Italy
What a great tour!! What a great tour guide!! What amazing food!!
Miguel was incredibly knowledgeable about food, about the history of the food and about the history of the areas we visited. Be prepared for a lot of walking. But you won't realize how far you walked until you realize look at a map the next morning. This is a great tour and one which I highly recommend.
I am so happy my husband and I did this tour. Fiona seems like an incredibly intelligent and interesting person, so as a tour guide, it was wonderful to listen to every bit of knowledge she had to offer not just about the food, but of history and art and Rome as well. Great value for what you pay!!!
What a great guide and great group of people. We loved this tour. Thank you!
Tour with dinner and wine? NEWS FLASH--no dinner and cheap wine. basically the tour consists of six stop at local food places. Our first stop was at a meat and chees market wher we got to sample a few small pieces of chees and an ounce of Proseco. The second stop was at a local fish place that's even Bacalla. Salted cod deep fried.not at all appealing. The next stop was at a place for Bruschette...we were served samples with unappealing toppings. Nextwe went for a slice of cheese pizza..yep just one small slice. Our guide told us we would finish the evening with a bowl of spaghetti then on to a gelato shop. At that point my wife and I had enough. None of the places we stopped at were place we would have chosen to eat. We were re very disappointed. It seemed others were as well. So we excused ourselves and went back to our hotel. Our guide was very entertaining and pleasant but overall the tour as nothing like the description. Don't waste your money.
