Know More about this tour

The tour starts at the old lighthouse and proceeds to the Brian Lara Promenade. Here you'd find several modern buildings including the Nicholas Towers, Twin Towers, and the Treasury Building. Moving through the city heading northerly on Abercromby Street to Woodford Square you'll pass right next to the famous Red House which is the official house of Parliament.
Continuing from the city, we pass next to the National Museum as well as our National Academy for the Performing Arts. We then move on to the Queen's Park Savannah. Scattered around the Savannah are exhibits of our past European architectural heritage, the Magnificent Seven buildings. Lastly, we make a stop in the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Before heading to Maracas Beach, we stop at two famous lookouts. The Lady Young lookout and Maracas lookout. Both allow for amazing photographic opportunities with their stunning views. At these lookouts, you can purchase samples of local snacks, sweets and crafts artisans on your own accord. At Maracas Beach, you can relax under the line of coconut trees while enjoying a shark and bake sandwich and a local beer before returning to Port of Spain.

Jeffrey was our driver. He was polite, professional and friendly. He was very helpful and patient in answering all our questions. He gave useful information about the geography, culture, diet and the people of Caribbean Islands. He also gave some useful information about what to do for our other activities.

My visit to Trinidad was fantastic and a lot of it had to do with the Trinidad Highlights and Scenic Drive Tour done by the local guide Hayden Whiskey who is quite knowledgeable and passionate about his job. He took us around the city and explained the history of Port of Spain and the things within. The view at the lookout is magnificent and Maracas Bay is breathtaking, the Bake & Shark and other local street food is everything I expect and more. Thanks to Mr Whiskey for making the memories I have of Trinidad a great one and he will always be remembered when I think of my vacation there.

An email from the tour company told me to meet them at a nearby hotel. I went there only to find no one. Back at the cruise terminal, I had to use my expensive international phone to call the company. They gave me another number to call. Finally, a man showed up and said he was my guide. He was a kind, good-hearted man, but didn't seem to know much about the history of the island. We spent a lot of time stuck in traffic and boucing along on potholes. Nice to see some of the island, but not the greatest tour.

I'm really convinced we were put on the wrong tour by mistake as we didn't see any view point of a the beach. We didn't even leave the main shopping area near the port. As nice as the tour guide was it wasn't at all what we expected or paid for £120 was a shocking price for what we received. The tour was meant to last 3.5 hours and we were back on the ship within 1 hour 50 minutes . I think this all came from a lot of confusion at the port area as nobody had a sign we then called the number on the booking and was told to go to an informed kiosk who were very friendly and polite and pointed us to a guy in a white shirt (but no sign or branding) he then shouted over to a guys who said "your tour is with me" like I said the guy was friendly enough but the tour was really poor quality for the money we paid.

Great tour! Informative and flexible. I wanted a small group tour, and given I booked on a Tuesday in September, ended up with a private tour with the excellent Ulrick as my guide. No fancy tour van - I rode in Ulrick’s car, and it was a realistic local experience. Pickup/dropoff at my hotel worked well. I was on a short trip to Trinidad and wanted a quick tour to be able to see more of Port of Spain and the island - this tour accomplished that! Ulrick gave lots of great history, and we had the flexibility to stop along the way to take photos (and Ulrick brought me to a few planned overlook spots). Maracas Bay is beautiful, and I enjoyed my Bake & Shark there, and had a few minutes to take some photos on Maracas Beach. I’m so glad I had a chance to squeeze in this tour on my trip to Trinidad!

Oric was such a great guide. We learmed so much about the island from him and he drove us to some amazing sights throughout Trinidad. He even ended up becoming our aiport driver once there because he was so nice and accomodating. I definitely recommend that you request him when doing the tour and if you need a driver to anywhere, he does it all.
