Overview
This course is a real scuba diving experience during which you will go out on the dive boat and do 2 real dives on our beautiful coral reefs. You will see uncountable varieties of colourful fish and possibly nurse sharks, reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, goliath groupers and barracudas. We have no dangerous animals on our reefs, so you can relax and enjoy!The price of this full day adventure includes everything you need for the experience (academics, rental gear, pool training, instructor for the whole day), and at the end of the day your souvenir certificate. All you need is a swimsuit and a towel.
Please note that you must be able to swim in order to learn how to scuba dive. You must also be in excellent health.
Itinerary:
After a brief introduction and classroom briefing, we will outfit you with scuba gear and then you are off to the pool where your instructor will teach a few scuba skills, you get to familiarize yourself with the use of the equipment and finally have time to enjoy a scuba pool dive under the supervision of your instructor. After a lunch break, you will go out on a dive boat and you will do two dives on the beautiful coral reef with your instructor. The program finishes at around 5 pm. Please make sure you do have transportation available since the pool site and the marina are a few minutes away. Please note that you cannot fly on an airplane or go to high altitude until 10 AM on the next day after your Discover Scuba Diving experience. To participate in this experience, you must know how to swim.

We had booked the Try Scuba course. Our instructor, Joe, was great! Professional and at the same time funny and quick-witted. After a theoretical part in the classroom, we went to practice diving in the pool - and then to two accompanying dives in the sea. A mini shark, stingrays, and turtle included. We'll be back!

I know this is going to sound like BS, but this was the most incredible dive experience I’ve had. On 6/5 we made plans with “Scuba Fun Dive Center” in Key Largo. Everything started on time and our instructor, guide, was perfect. His name is “Scuba Joe”. He was serious about safety, easy to engage with and a great guide underwater. He used an underwater writing pad that made the dives (2) that much more special. We didn’t wonder what we were seeing, he wrote if for us while we were watching. Very cool. The reefs were good, especially the first one. Lots of fish and other sea life. All in all…..a fun and exciting day with an enjoyable and informative host. And…..I got to share this day with my youngest son. Priceless!

Got my open water certification with Zack and Scuba Joe and could not have asked for a better set of instructors. These guys know what they are doing and will make learning both safe and fun. The dive sites that we went to were incredible and I can't wait to come back and dive with these guys again.

We dived with Joe (photo) and had an amazing experience! We saw many fish in all colors and among other things also parrotfish, Baracuda and a nurse shark! 😍 From start to finish we felt comfortable and in good hands. Joe is a fun and good diving instructor. We borrowed all the equipment and the price was certainly right for such a good experience! We would highly recommend a dive by Scuba-Fun Dive Center!

Just a warning about signing up for a day of scuba diving instruction with Key Largo scuba..never in my many years of traveling have i come across proprietors who had less interest in the welfare of their customers. If you want to learn to dive find another outfit and make sure you understand what you are signing up for…exactly. We were to do the day long instruction but the day before my 12 year old grandson came down with an earache. We went to Urgent Care and they advised NOT to do the program. Which was fine. But I tried everything to get ahold of the dive shop..left messages etc and no one ever return my calls. I knew we lost our $480. I was fine with that because of their strict “no refund” policy. But we were never offered a reschedule or even the courtesy of a “sorry”. They’ve got my money but they also have my disgust.

Joe Nunnally A.K.A. "Scuba Joe" was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!! He trained my 13 year old daughter, Chloe. She was anxious and nervous despite our entire family being Scuba certified and Scuba Friendly. Joe was kind courteous, knowledgeable, trustworthy, full of character, personable, and thoughtful. He made Chloe passionate about diving and put SAFETY first. He is the safest diver I've encountered in my 127 personal dives as an advance diver with Nitrox myself. He is THE BEST in the Florida Keys....HANDS DOWN. I can't wait to dive with him again.
