Step inside Turins charming atmosphere on this specially crafted day tour, the only one that takes you by high-speed train from Milan. As the cultural capital of northern Italy, this amazing city boasts an incredible concentration of world-class architecture, museums, piazzas, parks and monuments, not to mention the famous Shroud of Turin. With artistic achievements spanning from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, and Neo-Classic to Art Nouveau, this stunning former Italian capital shares the same elegant mood as great European cities like Paris or Vienna, adding a dash of its own savoir-faire and a healthy dose of its famous gelato and chocolate!

Know More about this tour

Meet our guide at Milans central railway station, and set off on the short 1-hour high-speed train ride to Turin. Once you arrive, youll meet up with your local expert guide right at the train station to commence your wonderful 2-hour walking tour followed by some free time with the added bonus of insider tips and recommendations. Explore the citys long boulevards, hidden corners and most important attractions to see the Turin that the only the locals know, all with the interesting stories and anecdotes that make the city come to life.

See famed piazzas like Piazza San Carlo with its twin 17th century churches, and enjoy free time for lunch and a visit to the citys Egyptian Museum (the second largest in the world after Cairos), the immense Palazzo Carignano, or basking in the dazzling atmosphere of the many 19th century cafs. After lunch meet up with your guide again to cover regal Turin in Piazza Castello, home to the citys original castle, Palazzo Madama and the Royal palace, whose immense faade rivals Europes other grand royal residences.

Not far away youll see Turins Duomo, home to the celebrated Holy Shroud that legend says the body of Jesus was buried in, miraculously bearing his likeness. The original is stored safely away, but a faithful replica is on display that is well-worth the visit. Then youre off to another symbol of the city, the iconic triangular dome and spire of the Mole Antonelliana. Originally designed as a synagogue, this singular work of architecture is now home to the Museum of Cinema (also the tallest museum in the world!).

Now that youve seen Turin from the street and taken in its incredible history, like all Italian citys its time to taste it! What could be better than some delectable chocolate gianduiotti or pralines and a gelato at one of its most renowned venues? These delicacies are literally to die for, and we have organized a special guided tasting for you that will put a perspective on Turin that youll be talking about for the rest of your trip. You can even pick up a box of chocolates for your friends and family back home!

After the tour, wind up the day with the same quick high-speed train journey back to Milan and find yourself with plenty of time left over to enjoy your evening with an aperitivo or dinner and a night on the town. Theres literally no excuse not seeing for yourself why Turin is getting so much attention these days as one of Italys top destinations.

There was some confusion since our contact at the train station came at the last minute, However, upon reaching Torino, Laura was waiting with open arms and enthusiastic about Torino and gave us on comprehensive tour only three persons. Laura kept us on schedule and made sure we saw the replica of the shroud of Turin in one church and the actual repository of the shroud in the cathedral before the cathedral closed from 100PM-300PM. Laura did an outstanding job in conveying the history of Torino and describing the sites on the tour.

Turin is an amazing city filled with history and museums. This was a quick tour but very worth it. The chocolate and gelato were excellent. We saw key sites but were also given time to do some things on our own. PS: I highly recommend visiting the Egyptian museum on your free time!

Excellent tour! Our tour guide - Laura Sgarlazzetta - is a native of Turin and knows every detail of the city's history, art and architecture. She kept our tour interesting, engaging and interactive. There is history and beauty in Turin at every corner - and Laura's commentary allowed us to truly appreciate what we saw. The tour had enough flexibility in it to allow the more ambitious tourists to explore some of the city on their own, yet let the jet-lagged ones take a breather and enjoy the delicious Italian coffee and gelato instead. Highly recommend this tour and Laura!

Our Tour Guide Acetaia Laura met us at the train station in Turin. We had a wonderful day exploring the old city. Laura was born and raised in Turin and was a wealth of information. The weather was overcast in the morning and when it started to rain during our free time, Laura was kind enough to buy us tickets to the museum so we could stay dry. We ended a great day eating chocolate and gelato, At the end of the tour Laura went out of her way to make sure we got on the right train and even walked us to our seats!

I enjoyed Torino, there is so much history about the place, the day we went my husband and I were the only two on the tour, this gave us a one on one, and our tour guide Laura Sgarlazzetta, was wonderful, he was so knowledgeable, and gave us an incredible insight into Torino. She went the extra mile by escorting us to our seats on the Train. Torino is and unknown Gem, sad that tourism is down for this beautiful city full of early history.
