With genuine and organic products, you will prepare a Tuscan menu together with the chef and prepare pasta, meat and dessert. Then you be able to eat and enjoy all that you have cooked during the course, tasting our organic wines.

The cooking class uses only local and organic products. You will begin the class by exploring the green garden of the Farm, picking fresh vegetables and selecting the right ingredients. You will then learn all the secrets of Tuscan cooking and cuisine from our trained and experienced chef at our Bottega del Mulino or, for big group, at Restaurant Mulino a Vento. The course consists of making fresh hand made pasta, a second course with vegetable of the season and a dessert. The final test consists of tasting everything that you have prepared with organic wines, low sulphite. Tailored cooking classes are welcomed for guests with special dietary requests.

    No picking of produce. We were misdirected by the host, and had to go back to the location, making us late, but only by about ten minutes, so that can't be the reason why we didn't get to go into the gardens to pick produce. I was disappointed with this experience. Nobody was asked to wash their hands before handling ingredients, which were rather inexpensive and ordinary. We are both experienced cooks ex-chefs and found the food quite basic. We had fresh tagliatelle with a sauce made of a mirapoix finely chopped onion, celery and carrot cooked in oil, red wine and tomato see below, chicken cooked in onion, sage, red wine and tomato, followed by creme brulee isn't that French??

    Also, if you're going to give very young children very large kitchen knives, please watch them to ensure they don't injure themselves or someone else! Thankfully nothing untoward happened, but by luck rather than judgement, I'm afraid!

    No beverages offered, except with lunch. Three hours in a kitchen without even a glass of water!??

    I can't eat tomato, but was reassured that a menu would be designed to accommmodate me. However, the pasta and chicken dishes both had a sauce that included tomato, and the only effort made was to leave it out - making my meal less than exciting. A sauce made of red wine and burnt sage is not pleasant. If you're advertising that you 'tailor' an experience for guests with dietary requirements, then you really ought to make a bit more effort! Not all Italian foods include tomato!! One piece of my chicken was not cooked, and was bleeding in the middle so couldn't be eaten. On the plus side, the creme brulee was delicious, albeit not Italian, and the bruscetta with chicken livers which we didn't make ourselves was very yummy. The wines were lovely, and the view from the balcony over the valley, the vineyard and olive trees absolutely stunning.

    Overall - more effort required, and stick to the description!
