Know More about this tour

Take the ‘one-day, sightseeing tour of Tuscany from Rome’ and be ready to discover the lovely Italian region with a local guide by your side.

Your Tuscany tour starts by traveling from Rome to Tuscany in a luxury coach. Traveling along the scenic road showing rolling hills, we will first stop at Montepulciano, a town renowned for its fine wine and views. The Renaissance hilltown is best-known for its production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a full-bodied red wine. Learn about it on a walking tour and discover highlights such as the Florence-style clock tower, the cathedral with its yet-to-be-finished facade, medieval wine cellars, and the old town walls.

From the farm, travel on to Pienza, one of the region’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here, enjoy up to 45 minutes of free time to explore. The layout of the town was created by Pope Pius II, who wanted to change the look of his birth town. Admire the historic center, which stays true to the pope’s vision, and gaze at the fine architecture that abounds. If you are a fan of food, check the shops for pecorino cheese, arguably Pienzas most prized product.

Your day trip finishes with your coach journey back from Tuscany to Rome.

The tasting and lunch was divine, but the guides and cities we stopped at were equally as fascinating and very informative.

The trip was amazing. The views are totally worth it. Our guides where really nice and helpful. The lunch had a lot of steps. The cheese, the ham and the wine where delicious. The pasta sauce was ok, not the best. The villages are pretty and you get enough free time to walk around and take pictures.

This was a very interesting, beautiful and enjoyable tour. Jon, the tour guide, was so very informative. The fact he spoke perfect English also was a plus.

This was a fun and full day. The countryside is so beautiful. Emiliano was a terrific guide and provided lots of information about the sights. He also offered great suggestions about restaurants in Rome which we tried and enjoyed very much!

Wow! From beginning to end. Very organized, comfortable, informative, and just breathtaking. Ana met us in the Piazza and was very welcoming. At the start of the tour, she introduced our driver (Giuseppe) who was “her favorite”. I can see why! We were blown away by her knowledge of all regions, food, and history. Once in Montepulciano, we were struck by the immense landscape and architecture. Our guide through the town was also top notch. Once on the farm, the lunch and wine tasting were out of this world. Angela, Cecelia and the rest of the family were welcoming and also very informative. The food and wine pairings were out of this world. We were so stuffed when we were done! We bought lots of wine, olive oil, cheese and they will even ship it to you! Stops along the way included washroom breaks and a short visit to Pienza, Another quaint town in Tuscany with the most beautiful views. This tour is a must!

Paula was an outstanding tour guide during a 12 hour wine tasting trip to Tuscany. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about everything we did that day. I highly recommend her as a very enjoyable guide. Grazie Paula!

Excellent trip! It is a full day experience but worth it. Our guide knew so much and the driver was punctual, safe, and I didn’t get motion sick (which I normally do). We first stop at this cute store with lots of free samples and then go to Montepulcciano which is so cute with an interesting history. There is a hill but it’s really not too bad, one guy in our group had a cane and did it no problem. The lunch was tasty, although I personally wished there was more of the pasta and less of the wine. We stop at one more small town and one more bathroom break before returning. Absolutely beautiful drive.

A wonderful day in Tuscany! Our guide was wonderful, the itinerary was perfect, and Tuscany itself was amazing!

This trip was absolutely phenomenal. The drive to Tuscany is really nice, and the quick rest stop provides the perfect opportunity to refuel on great foods and drinks. Once you arrive in Tuscany, it is truly breathtaking, picturesque and beautiful. Our tour guide, Andres, was extremely knowledgeable and provided excellent commentary, history and insight regarding the area. The 3-course lunch is truly a treat. The restaurant we went to made me feel like I was at home sharing a meal with family. The two sisters who own and operate the restaurant, along with their staff, were extremely friendly and made you feel like you were at home. And the wine and food selections were exquisite. Overall, this is definitely a day trip worth taking. My only suggestion would be to make this an overnight trip with a stay in Tuscany, if possible, because a few hours is not nearly enough time to take in all the sights and beauty.
