We have just returned from camp Cecil four nights12/17 and I would like to say it was as other reveiws mention one of the best trips we have done.Everything was as stated by other reviews is true.
The only thing to mention is the Gnats from the Mangroves are the fly in the ointment. If the wind is not blowing they will and did eat us on every square inch of skin exposed. And as stated elsewhere it will cause a reaction several days later with insane itching. Not much helps so my sugestion is to bring long sleeved shirts and light pants and cotton gloves and socks. The best idea I saw was a Bee keepers hat with full coverage down to the neck.
This is not a knock on the Island it is just the facts of nature like Austrailia where you wear a hat rimmed with balls on strings to keep off the Flies in certain areas.Looks silly but it works and lets you enjoy the place you came to see.
Phenominal Guides and staff made up for the bugs and when you are not in camp ,no problems Mate.

Truly a one-of-a-kind experience that we would highly recommend to friends, family and strangers alike. The accommodations were better than expected and extremely comfortable considering you are on a remote island in the Gulf of California with everything having to be brought in by boat. That said, the staff might be the best part of the trip and truly made us feel welcome from the second we booked the trip online. From our extremely knowledgable on-hand trip guide that ensured we had everything we needed before, during and after our stay to the amazing chefs that kept us fed daily with unbelievably delicious, multi-course meals to our boat captain that was quick to point out passing dolphins and turtles as we cruised the shoreline on daily snorkeling trips.

Also, keep your eye's out for the feral goats that make their way down to the beach to drink in the mornings. Epic.

    Thanks Alan and Team!!!

This was one of the best things we have done while being on a vacation. We were treated like royalty. The tent was spacious, the bed very comfortable with beautiful linens. The staff was amazing. First class meals cooked by chefs. Each meal was an artful design, sometimes made from freshly caught seafood - that they caught. Many delicacies and always at least two courses. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the whole area and ready to take us on any adventure we desired. Hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling with the sea lions. You could go with the guide or enjoy your own time. We even had the turtle sanctuary workers bring a dozen large sea turtles to the beach for measuring and tagging. The only thing the staff didn't do was carry us around! Words really can't describe how wonderful this trip is. I would go again in a heartbeat - but stay twice as long. Well worth the money - DO IT!!
P.S. - This is the first review I have ever written and I have world travelled for over 30 years.

Five stars just doesn't seem enough to express how happy we were with this tour. Having booked it without any reviews of the tour, I was a bit apprehensive about what to expect and whether it was a good value for money. As the previous review stated, it exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The tour started on our way out to the island from getting picked up to stop and swim with whale sharks. Our guide, Bernardo - who was simply fantastic - had us jump in at he perfect time. I came fav to face with the whale shark being so close that if I would have reached out, I could easily touch it!!! Amazing! Then we make it to the camp with such an incredible, private view. The only thing on our beach was 8 or 9 tents and the dining/cooking area. It gave way to a very private, relaxing environment. The tents are very spacious with quality linens and furniture. Three meals a day is also understated. We had a cold breakfast, hot breakfast, appetizer at lunch, lunch, happy hour with appetizers and dinner with dessert. Also whatever you wanted to drink - beer, wine, freshly squeezed juices, water, soda, margaritas, etc. Every morning after breakfast we went out for a trip - either hiking or snorkeling, come back for lunch and then go back out. Of course you could stay back and relax or do your own paddle boarding or kayaking. Bernardo is a marine biologist who had a vast knowledge of the area, talking about it in a way that showed how passionate he was about his job and how much he enjoyed it. He knew wind patterns and could predict what the next day would Ben like to ensure the planning of activities were at the best time and for optimal enjoyment. The chef - Ivan - once cooked for the Four Seasons in London and the meals proved his skill. Who has panacotta and crepes while camping!?! To finish our trip, we went to the north side of the island and got to swim with sea lions. Words can't really describe how cool of an experience that was. Whatever nervousness we felt, Bernardo helped to ease that feeling by interacting so well with them. Helped us to feel comfortable.
Couple suggestions for any who go - bug spray is recommended. When it's windy, there are no bugs. But when it's not, they come out. That's just part of camping. Also make sure you bring good water and/or hiking shoes.
If I would have realized we could have stayed longer, we would have. We would highly recommend this package to anyone. You get so much bang for your buck and such an unforgettable experience. Can't wait to go back!!!

My wife and I did the 3 day/2 night glamping trip to Espiritu Santo. Exceeded our expectations in every way! I could see from the pictures that the tent was roomy and the bed looked comfortable. In fact, the tent was very big and the bed wonderful, and everything else was on the same level of quality. I expected to be well fed, but as many as three courses at breakfast, four at lunch, happy hour with drinks and Hors d'oeuvres and then some amazing things at dinner, gourmet dishes with fresh ingredients, that was above and beyond.
The activities were exceptional too. We wanted to see the sea lion rookery and to snorkel with the whale sharks if that could be fit in. Our guides, one with a degree in Biology and both very well informed and great conversationalists, made sure that we not only got those experiences but also timed them for minimal crowds, good lighting and also took us to many other fantastic places. Espiritu Santo is a Baja paradise.
Some details which you may not get from the website:
The campground itself is on a small beach with no other groups. Small boats occasionally anchor in the little bay but they only add to the scenery. There is good paddle boarding and kayaking right there and some interesting snorkeling.
When the wind is blowing, bugs arent a problem. My wife and I did not use bug spray on the one day/evening that was very still, despite being warned by the guides, and we got bitten by very tiny gnats. The bites werent bothersome until a few days later. We dont have many bugs at home so chalk that one up to our own inexperience.
The staff is very accommodating. We wanted to stay active and to spend as much time in, on or under the water as possible. Others preferred to spend more time relaxing. Everyone got what they wanted. There was a woman with three kids, ages 9 to 13, and they had a great time. My daughters would have loved this when they were kids, at any age.
In addition to the glamour, there are some camping aspects to this glamping, besides the tents, luxurious though they may be. First, fresh water has to be brought in by boat. Therefore, showering is limited to once a day generally. We were in and out of the water so much that it was not an issue for us. The shower is a solar- heated sun shower, clean and private. Second, toilets are dry, using sawdust, but reasonably comfortable, quite sanitary, and much better than the usual portable toilet.
We would go and do this again in a heartbeat. In fact, we are trying to arrange a trip with our friends for a few months from now.
