During the week that we visited Florence the Accademia was free to the public but closed to tour guides. As a result, our combined Uffizi and Accademia Walking Tour had to be limited to the Uffizi. Fortunately our tour guide did such an excellent job that our disappointment was minimal. His history training was apparent as he responded early on to a question from a member of our group and seeing our response, he decided to orient the tour accordingly. The examples he showed us in numerous paintings and the historical connections clearly demonstrated for us the transitions from medieval to Renaissance art. His explanations of the original building added to our enjoyment. All in all, it was a wonderful morning.

Our small group tour of the Uffizi and Accademia was exactly what we had hoped for. Our tour guide, Francesca, was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about Florence, the two museums we visited and the art we viewed there. We had 9 people in our group which helped to move through the very crowded museums. Having skip the line access was absolutely essential to avoid a very long wait in the lines that formed outside the museums. It was also very helpful to have earphones to hear our tour guide so that while she was telling us about a particular painting, we could walk around the room and look at other pieces of art but still hear what she had to say. It was also crucial to have a well informed guide who could point out the most prominent pieces at the museum as there is a lot to see. Francesca also provided us with the history and other information about Florence as we walked between the museums. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you are lucky and get Francesca as your tour guide!

This visit to the Uffizi was awesome, not only because of the history but because of our small group tour guide, Claudia! Very professional, personable, and knowledgeable, and friendly! Thank you so much.

Leonardo was our guide for the Academia and Uffizi tours. Having been to Florence numerous times, this was our first tour. He was excellent and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Thanks Leonardo.

Our guide was able to make the most efficient use of our time... showing us all the most appealing works of art. For each one she possessed a depth of knowledge that she was able to communicate to us (novices in the subjects).
My wife and i were thoroughly impressed by this tour... especially due to our experienced guide.

Alessandra was a superb guide. I learned so much. The wait to get into our first museum, Uffizi was a bit long but once we were in all went smoothly.
-
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the museum and the history of Florence. His English was perfect and he was patient with the group’s needs and questions during the tour of the Uffizi, walking tour and the time at Accademia.

I had visited the l'Academia before, but it was my first time for the Uffizi. Our guide, Ricardo, couldn't have been better. He was easy to understand not always the case with tour guides, knowledgeable he had extensive studies in art history, and set the right pace for the tour. With so many things to see in the Uffizi, it is impossible to see everything in one short visit. He highlighted some of the best works, and supplied background history that helped tie everything together.
This was one of the best of many tours we booked while in Italy. Strongly recommend. -
Having access without waiting in lines at the museums is definitely an advantage. Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of interesting history of the art and artifacts we observed. Walking between the two museums provided an opportunity to see some of the other historical aspects of Florence and added significantly to the experience.
