Know More about this tour

Rise and shine for early-morning pickup from your Flagstaff or Seodna hotel. Youll be taken by mini-coach through to the Grand Canyon National Park.

First, visit Wupatki National Monument, wherein lies the remarkable ruins of the ancient Native American civilization of Sinagua, who lived here for 400 years but then vanished without a trace. As your guide will explain, these ancient desert dwellers witnessed the dramatic eruption of Sunset Crater Volcano nearly a millennium ago, which destroyed their homes and forced them out.

Learn about the eruption of Sunset Crater as you visit nearby Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, where youll see the expansive fields of lava youve just heard about. At midday, head to the historic Cameron Trading Post for a sit-down lunch at the restaurant. Chat with your fellow travelers as you enjoy a wonderful Navajo taco lunch which blends American, Native American and Mexican cuisine in the spacious dining room adorned with antique cabinets and Native American art including Navajo rugs and baskets.

After lunch, hop back in the mini-coach and venture into the Grand Canyon for an afternoon of exploring this magnificent natural wonder. This portion of the tour includes stupendous views from Grand Canyon National Parks East Rim and South Rim. Stop at lookout points to soak up dramatic vistas of the canyon and gorges below, and have time to explore at your own pace by foot. Keep an eye out for wildlife including the endangered California Condor.

Throughout your tour, your expert guide will teach you about the history, archaeology, geology and flora and fauna of Grand Canyon National Park and Arizona as a whole. Feel free to ask any questions you have. At the end of the day, relax on the drive back to your hotel with many photos, memories and fascinating information to share.

  • I felt I hit the jackpot with our tour guide! His passion, knowledge and enthusiasm was amazing. The sites of course were spectacular, but the extra information our tour guide provided was the frosting on the cake. He deserves a raise, promotion, whatever!

  • This trip was everything we hoped it would be. There are many choices out there, and we chose this one because of the lunch at the Trading Post which did not disappoint! JR, our tour guide was excellent, sharing a wealth of knowledge and an interesting story or two.
He also took us to a few of the less commercial spots at the Grand Canyon which we really appreciated. He clearly knew the lay of the land and took us to some amazing spots for photos and experience. Its a long day but well worth the time and reasonable expense. We hope to go again.

  • The tour guide was a great! We made several stops around the south rim of the canyon. She provided great facts and conversation.

  • I highly recommend this tour. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge about all things Sedona and Grand Canyon. He knew the very best places to stop to see the sites and for pictures. Lunch was also great at a local restaurant. This tour is a highlight!

  • This was our first trip to the Grand Canyon and one that begs for more! Our tour guide was professional, exceptionally knowledgeable and kind. When struck with a downpour upon arriving at the Canyon our guide gave me his jacket to protect me from a soaking and allowing me not to miss even one spectacular view. I cannot ever forget his thoughtfulness! My husband, who is not easily moved, was speechless with the majesty of the canyon. In addition, the door to door service from our hotel in Sedona, visiting the Wupatki National Monument and the small group 13 all added to an unforgettable day. Even though our trip was in mid-August we were always comfortable in our air conditioned mini-bus. Thank you Viator for providing everything you promised.

  • Our tour of the Grand Canyon was wonderful!!!! Our guide, JR, had an amazing knowledge of the area and shared wonderful information to us. Since there was only 6 on our tour, it was wonderful to enjoy the amazing sites together. The whole day went by quickly and without any problems. I would recommend this tour to anyone--well worth the cost of it! Would love to do it again.

  • The tour was probably one of the best we ever had and we have visited all continents. It was not only Great Canyon, but the whole experience which included amazing landscapes of Arizona, volcanic peaks, mountain ranges, pine forest. It was a very good lunch included in Navajo guest house, which certainly was better than some restaurant meals we had in Sedona. The success of the trip was in large part also due to our tour guide Mark. His knowledge of geology, history, fauna and flora kept our attention for all 11 hours of the trip. He is also a very gentle attentive helpful guide, who obviously enjoys his line of work. We would highly recommend it to anybody.

  • We had a wonderful day with Tim as our guide. He was conscientious about paying attention to each person on the tour and was extremely knowledgeable about all of the places we visited. This is my second tour using Viator and I highly recommend them.

  • This was a long, but very good tour with plenty of stops along the way. Our driver was Charlie and he was passionate about what he was showing the group. And, the lunch at the Navajo trading post was a pleasant surprise. Try the green chili stew if you like your food spicy. It was excellent.

  • The tour guide was very informed and make the day so pleasant.
